Headquartered at historic Fishermen’s Terminal in Seattle, Washington, UnCruise Adventures offers an alternative to traditional cruises by taking guests into areas inaccessible to large ships and on excursions that are exclusive, private, and unavailable to most other travelers.
In 1997, American Safari Cruises pioneered yacht cruising in Alaska. InnerSea Discoveries enjoyed its inaugural season of expedition-style active exploration of Southeast Alaska’s Inside Passage in summer 2011. In January 2013, the company changed its name to UnCruise Adventures.
With never more than 88 total guests onboard, and with their smallest yacht, no more than 22 guests, UnCruise Adventures deliver the essence of a destination with an experience which is uncrowded, unrushed and unbelievable.

UnCruise Adventures
UnCruise Adventures’ fleet of boutique yachts and small ships carry 22-88 guests on adventure and river cruises along the West Coast of the Americas. Destinations include Alaska, Hawaiian Islands, Mexico’s Sea of Cortés, Columbia & Snake Rivers, Pacific Northwest, Galápagos Islands, Costa Rica and Panamá and Panama on its own. The company celebrates 20 years of small ship cruising in 2016.
Adventure: Eight adventure vessels cast aside the tradition of rigid cruise ship schedules for flexible itineraries and few scheduled port times allowing the vessels to seek out wildlife and maximize adventure activities—hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, skiff excursions. Yet guests also enjoy the more traditional meaning of cruising with gourmet cuisine, fine wines and specialty microbrews, hot tubs and other amenities.
River cruise: The S.S. Legacy, a replica coastal steamer fashioned after steam ships that plied the rivers of the U.S. in the early 1900s, sails along the Columbia and Snake Rivers with tours included each day to places of scenic and historical interest. A wine cruise itinerary features wine tasting and tours at Oregon and Washington wineries.
Alaska is the core of what we do. We do it differently. Exceedingly comfortable vessels allow us to provide the most in-depth and exhilarating wilderness experiences available in Alaska’s Inside Passage. By spending virtually the entire week of each departure within the remote narrow waterways, coves, and bays of SE Alaska, guests enjoy more thrilling encounters with wildlife and natural wonders than in any other way. Six yachts or expedition vessels amount to the largest variety of price, itinerary, capacity and combinable weeks – all the way up to 21 night programs without any backtracking.

Uncrowded. Unrushed. Unbelievable.
Once you step on board, you’ll understand immediately. It’s the casual nature. It’s nature itself. It’s the rare encounter. It’s the attentive service, the fellowship, the extraordinary sense of place. It’s all these things and so much more. Built on a reputation of quality and experience, each UnCruise Adventure features flexible voyages designed to satisfy your adventurous nature.
Creating an unbeatable balance between exploration and relaxation in inspiring places is what we do best. The maneuverability of our small expedition boats and yachts gives you unparalleled access to wilderness areas ideal for viewing wildlife, exploring by skiff, active adventure, and relaxation. And the close relationships we develop in local communities offer cultural encounters most travelers never experience. The way we play, the onboard experiences, and the amenities offered or included—set us apart.
DELIVERING EXPERIENCE
In addition to getting extraordinarily close to nature and wildlife, we ensure that all guests have opportunities to learn about what they are seeing and experiencing. We engage local experts from the National Park Service to interpret, narrate, and share dinner. U.S. Forest Service wilderness rangers sometimes kayak right up to our boats and hop aboard to talk about natural history and their own special bond with the land. And local historians bring history to life. Supplementing our onboard expedition team, Captains, and other staff, these interpreters provide a tremendous resource for our small contingent of guests.
The best in the industry—our Captains, chefs, expedition team, hotel staff, and mates—each individually selected not only for their outstanding knowledge, customer service, and safety skills, but also for their genuinely welcoming and enthusiastic personalities. Our Expedition and Legacy Leaders are experienced guides with advanced training in natural and/or cultural history. Our customer service staff is made up of energetic men and women who are as excited about where you’re going as you are. Our Captains and engineers have the certifications and skills to provide you with a safe and confident exploration experience.
HISTORY & CULTURE
We travel to places rich in history and bursting with culture. We invite local experts to share their heritage and invite you to interact for a deeper awareness.
The appeal of America's western states leaves an indelible impression on those who wander through them. Step into the American west on an un-cruise along the Columbia & Snake Rivers that encompasses human and natural history.
Sail through the islands and inlets that inspired Captain George Vancouver as he explored and charted his way from Pacific Northwest and British Columbia coasts all the way to Alaska. Shaped by massive glaciers over millions of years, Alaska’s heritage has been carved over centuries by native cultures, Russian settlers, and gold-rushers seeking their fortune.
Heading south of the border to Mexico’s Sea of Cortés, an archipelago formed by tectonic forces that came into being around 5.3 million years ago, you’ll meet residents still living the life of a bygone era.
And in the wake of Captain Cook, experience the traditional culture of the Hawaiian Islands. Explore legends and lore and restore ancient taro fields while you “talk story” with locals and inhabit the spirit of these beautiful islands.
WILDERNESS & WILDLIFE
Nature is slow. And its change can be subtle. But what you might see in a day is ordinarily, quite extraordinary.
You come so close to pristine waterfalls you can feel their invigorating spray. And your itinerary is flexible enough that the Captain can change course for a whale sighting or linger in a tidal inlet if bears are foraging on the beach. We’re focused on providing our guests with a multitude of meaningful ways to experience incredible wilderness wonderlands.
