Salt Lake City is bordered by the buoyant waters of the Great Salt Lake and the snow-capped peaks of the Wasatch Range.
Take scenic drive north to Bear Lake, often called the “Caribbean of the Rockies” for its intense turquoise blue water. The night will find you glamping at the Conestoga Ranch. (D)
Travelling north, stop in Lava Hot Springs, noted for its hot springs and a turbulent inner tube run through part of the town. Idaho Falls features an extensive river walk along several miles of the Snake River. (B)
Travel through the quaint western town of Jackson and onto Grand Teton National Park, one of the ten most visited national parks in the U.S., before continuing into Yellowstone. America’s first national park is home to more than 10,000 geothermal features including geysers, hot springs, mudpots and fumaroles. (B)

Travel via the Beartooth Highway, one of North America's most spectacular alpine highway to Cody, a picturesque little western town with a nightly rodeo during summer months.
Spend the night as a real Wyoming cowboy at the Ranch at Ucross with an included horse ride. (D)
Visit Devil's Tower, a volcanic neck over 260 metres high as you head to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Badlands National Park, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial and Custer State Park are highlights of this region. (B)

Deadwood is a historic gambling town that came to life during the gold discovery of 1874. Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane lived here. Visit famous Saloon#10, the only museum in the world with a bar.
Head over to the Missouri River to Bismarck, the state capital of North Dakota.
Explore Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which protects a unique landscape but also commemorates a remarkable and unique character. The Scenic Loop Drive is an excellent way to explore the park in a day.

Montana’s largest town is a good base for visits to the Little Bighorn battlefield and the Crow Indian Reservation.
Helena, Montana’s capital was founded with the discovery of gold in 1864.
Discover Glacier National Park, home to two mountain ranges, over 130 named lakes, more than 1000 plant species and hundreds of animal species. The "Going-to-the-Sun" Road crosses the park, going over the Continental Divide at Logan Pass.

The afternoon finds you in Coeur d'Alene, known locally as ‘Lake City’.
Visit the Lewis and Clark Discovery Center to learn about their famous expedition.
Detour to Heaven’s Gate Lookout for breathtaking views of the Seven Devils Mountains, Hells Canyon, and four states—Oregon, Idaho, Washington, and Montana. Stop in McCall, a lively mountain town on the southern shore of Payette Lake. (B)
Today’s scenic drive heads through the Sawtooth Range. Your day ends in Sun Valley, America’s first ski resort.
Visit the Shoshone Ice Cave and the spectacular 65 metre plunge of the Shoshone Falls. One final night in Salt Lake City completes your journey.
