Day 1

Day 2

Vancouver - Victoria - Vancouver

Today's adventure is a full day guided excursion to the city of Victoria, on Vancouver Island. 

A scenic 90 minute ferry trip winding through the Southern Gulf Islands will lead into BC's capital city of Victoria. After an orientation tour, you'll enjoy time at leisure to explore. Wander around the Inner Harbour, stop in for a visit at the Fairmont Empress, or do some shopping. 

This afternoon, a visit to one of the city's most iconic attractions will appeal to even the most casual gardeners. Spread across 55 acres, The Butchart Gardens are truly a sight to be seen. 

Finish the day with a return ferry journey to the mainland, keeping watch for marine wildlife along the way. 

Day 3

Vancouver - Whistler - Vancouver

Another day of spectacular scenery and adventures awaits today. 

Revel in the natural beauty as you wind your way along the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler with a stop at Shannon Falls to feel the mist from the roaring water. Views of the surrounding snowcapped mountain peaks
and Howe Sounds coastal fjord are brilliant.

You'll have plenty of free time in the alpine village of Whistler to explore. Browse through the various stores featured along the cobblestone paths of Whistler Village, visit the Audain Art Museum or the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre, ride the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, walk along the forest trails or get something to eat from one of the world-class restaurants.

Finish your day with the return to Vancouver, ready for more adventures tomorrow. 

Day 4

Vancouver - Kamloops

On today’s Rocky Mountaineer journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the BC interior. (B)(L)


Day 5

Kamloops - Banff

Your journey continues to the mighty Canadian Rockies. You will see a spectacular array of scenery as you travel along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. (B)(L)

Day 6


Learn about culture, geology and wildlife while exploring the spectacular sights of the renowned mountain town of Banff. Today's sightseeing tour will take you to some of the most incredible sights and sounds that western Canada has to offer.

Head up the Banff Gondola to the peak of Sulphur Mountain for a 360 degree panorama of the Bow Valley, and complete the day with a boat cruise on Lake Minnewanka. (L)

Day 7


Today's soaring helicopter experience offers a dramatic birds-eye-view of Mount Assiniboine, towering over the glacier at a height of 3611 metres along the Great Divide. Photographers will be delighted at the opportunity to
capture this landscape of unspoiled glaciers and icefalls. A truly memorable experience!

Day 8

Banff - Lake Louise

Join a guided excursion into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge spanning the Kicking Horse River. Visit the most treasured spots in the Canadian Rockies on this remarkable excursion through Banff and Yoho National Parks.

Experience the evolution of land and discover how it has shaped the appearance of the spectacular natural wonders found in these mountain settings. Some of the incredible sights you will come across include the unforgettable Moraine Lake and the magnificent Takakkaw Falls, all surrounded by soaring mountain peaks. You'll finish the day and spend the night at the iconic Lake Louise. 


Day 9

Lake Louise - Jasper

Depart Lake Louise this morning as you journey along The Icefields Parkway, Canada's most scenic mountain roadway. This is the route to over one hundred visible glaciers, turquoise lakes, and rushing waterfalls.

The Columbia Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North America. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. 

End your day in Jasper, Canada's largest National Park. (L)

Day 10


One of the best ways to explore a new destination is through your stomach. This afternoon's Foodie Tour will teach you about Jasper's history, share some of the town's best tales, while tasting four carefully handpicked dishes and paired alcoholic beverages from local restaurants. 

Day 11


Jasper National Park is well known for it's significance as a World Heritage site due to it's natural beauty and historical significance. Today's small group, locally guided wildlife tour will show you some of Jasper's hidden gems as knowledgeable guides share their knowledge of the history, geology, and ecology of the area.

As you travel through Jasper and the surrounding area, not only will you be amazed at some of the beautiful scenery on this journey, you will also learn about the ways the wildlife in the area contribute to the rich diversity of the National Park.  Big or small, Jasper National Park provides a great opportunity to view animals in their natural habitat. 

Day 12

Jasper - On Board VIA Rail

It's time to farewell the Canadian Rocky Mountains today as you embark on your next amazing Canadian Rail journey. 

Settle into your private cabin on board VIA Rail's Canadian and relax while you enjoy the scenery leaving the mountains for the prairies and farmland ahead. (D)

There is plenty to keep you occupied during your multi-day scenic train journey, as you leave behind the mountains, travelling through farmlands and prairies, the Great Plains, and onwards to the scenic lake lands of Ontario. 

Be sure to spend some time in the domed viewing cars onboard, as you watch for wildlife and enjoy the ever changing landscapes. The delicious gourmet meals presented in the dining car are sure to be a highlight of your journey. Enjoy a final day onboard the train heading towards Toronto, Canada's largest city.

Day 15

VIA Rail - Toronto

Arrive in Toronto this morning. The rest of the day is yours to explore Canada’s largest and most diverse city.

Toronto, the capital of the province of Ontario, is located along Lake Ontario’s north western shore.

This bold and dynamic city is made up of many diverse neighbourhoods such as Old Town which includes the original 10 blocks of York as Toronto was formally known. St Lawrence Market is located in Old Town and is one of the oldest markets in Canada. Another great area to explore is the Distillery Historic District which is full of art galleries, cafes and Victorian architecture. 

Downtown Toronto is a metropolis of skyscrapers and the iconic CN Tower, whilst keeping many green spaces like Queen’s Park for locals to enjoy. Just offshore from downtown are the 15 small islands known as Toronto Islands which are perfect outdoor recreation. (B)

Day 16

Toronto - Niagara Falls - Toronto

Today's Niagara Falls tour will bring you to one of Canada's most spectacular natural wonders. An ample amount of time will be spent at the falls to give you every opportunity to take pictures and admire the thundering waters. One of the days highlights is sure to be the thrilling Voyage to the Falls boat ride, for a unique view of the spectacular Horseshoe Falls (seasonal).

You'll also indulge in a delicious six course first class buffet lunch with a fantastic view of the Falls.

Take a trip along the beautiful Niagara Parkway which winds its way along the Niagara Gorge. See the Floral Clock, Queenston Heights and spend some free time in the historic town of Niagara-On-The-Lake, voted "Canada's Prettiest Town". (L)


Day 17

Toronto - Ottawa

Follow the shores of Lake Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes of North America, on today's rail journey to Ottawa, Canada's capital city. (L)

Day 18

Ottawa - Montreal

After some final exploration in the Nation's capital, continue by train onto Montréal. 

Montréal is the largest city in Canada's Québec province. It’s set on an island in the Saint Lawrence River and named after Mt. Royal, the three-peaked hill at its heart. Its neighbourhoods, many of which were once independent cities, include the iconic cobblestoned, French colonial Old-Montréal with the Gothic Revival Notre-Dame Basilica at its centre to bohemian Le Plateau Mont Royal which are great for wandering and exploring. Montreal is blessed with one of the most dynamic food scenes in North America from Poutine to Arctic Char, and there are many food and drink combinations you will not be able to find elsewhere. An unmissable highlight is the incredible Notre Dame immersive and luminous light show which lights up the interior of the basilica. (L)

Day 19


Explore the city of Montreal on a guided city tour. Some of the highlights of this fully-narrated tour are a stop at the beautiful Notre Dame Basilica, residential and financial districts, historic Old Montreal, an outside view of the Olympic Complex, the campus of McGill University and the panoramic view from an observation point on top of Mont Royal. The tour can be considered a complete tour of the city, as it will bring guests by more than 200 points of interest.

Day 20

Montreal - Quebec City

Farewell Montreal this morning as you travel by train to the heart of French Canada, historic and charming Quebec City. (L)

Quebec City

A guided walking tour today will highlight the architecture, history and culture of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.


Embark on historic walking tour of Old Quebec and learn about its colourful past beginning in 1608 and continuing into the present day. Tours are designed to give visitors a general sense of the history of the fortress and hub that is Quebec City, as well as an understanding of the lives of the people that have inhabited it through out the centuries.

Day 22

Quebec City

Your cross Canada journey comes to an end today as you check out of your hotel.
