Self-Guided Holidays - A self-guided holiday with Explore Worldwide gives you the freedom and flexibility to enjoy Europe at your own pace. With careful chosen itineraries to showcase the best of the regions, you can choose to take a leisurely cycle through Puglia and the 'heel' of Italy, or enjoy good food, sun and sea on a walking holiday along the Amalfi Coast. You can depart on any day of the week, get up when you want, cycle or walk at your own pace and take a break whenever you like. Immerse yourself in local life, meet local people, stop for refreshments, enjoy regional hospitality and learn about local history. Explore Worldwide will take care of all of the logistics, transport your luggage and provide detailed, accurate and easy-to-follow route notes and maps.
Tailor-made Holidays - Build your own itinerary based around where you want to go, what you want to do and how long you want to do it - Explore Worldwide's tailor-made holidays give you the freedom to create the adventure of your dreams. Offering a wide range of boutique accommodation options from overnight trains and river boats to havelis and riads, there's something to suit every taste, style and budget.
Small Group Trips - For more than 30 years Explore Worldwide have been introducing travellers to the lesser known parts of our planet in small groups - usually with 14 to 16 people. A small group holiday offers more flexibility with the chance to stay in smaller family-run hotels, travel and eat with the local people and enjoy a more authentic travel experience. With a balance of group activities and plenty of personal time to relax or explore independently, Explore Worldwide's small group adventures give travellers the chance to share their love of travel with like-minded people from all over the world. Solo travellers, couples and friends travelling together - all are welcome on an Explore Worldwide small group trip.
Private Departures - Private Departures are designed for people who prefer the flexibility of travelling independently. Based on the same itinerary as the small group tour, Private Departures give you the freedom to choose your own departure date and simply enjoy the adventure with your family, your partner or your friends. Private Departures follow an itinerary identical to our equivalent group departures, enjoying the same activities, visiting the same sites and staying at the same hotels. On most Private Departures you will travel with a driver and be met by local guides at each site, on others a guide will accompany you from beginning to end. Either way you will be looked after throughout, benefiting from all our years of experience. Private Departures give you the flexibility to start the trip on a day that suits you and the freedom to adjust your daily timings within the framework of the itinerary.
Centre-Based Holidays - Centre-based adventures are ideal if you want to control the pace of your holiday and explore one region in more depth. These trips focus on regions in Europe famous the world over for their natural beauty: the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, Andalucia, the Alps and the Pyrenees amongst many others. The accommodation base itself is often a highlight, chosen for its character and located close to the activities and experiences the region may offer. In Italy you'll stay at a traditional villa and working farmhouse hotels (agriturismos), in Spain you'll be based at small, family run hotels and also a converted convent, while in Croatia, a lovely pension in a small, rural hamlet close to the Cetina Gorge. In the French, Austrian and Italian Alps there's the chance to enjoy the hospitality of small, family-run chalet style hotels. One advantage of a centre based holiday is that you can be totally flexible: although activities are included on most days you can opt in or opt out as you please. If you fancy exploring the area independently for a day, or just relaxing at the hotel and doing your own thing, the format of a centre based holiday makes this very easy to arrange.
Responsible tourism is - and always has been - one of the driving principles of Explore Worldwide. They care deeply about travelling in a way that positively impacts the people and places we visit.
Responsible travel means:
Explore Worldwide have worked hard at these things to ensure they are welcomed in the places we all love to visit, meaning local people benefit and their groups enjoy a better trip. It could be through some of the great community based tourism experiences, meeting local people or experiencing the pristine wilderness and leaving it untouched.
