Day 1
Arrive into Oslo then make your way to the hotel. The airport train is a convenient option that takes you direct to the city centre.
Day 2
Make your way to Oslo Central Station and travel by train to Voss, located in the heart of Fjordland Norway, between the Sognefjord and Hardangerfjord (approx. 5.5-hour journey). (B)(D)
Day 3
Enjoy full-day ‘Norway in a Nutshell’ sightseeing tour (shared, non-escorted). Superb waterfalls line the road as your coach weaves its way down the valley to Gudvangen. Take a ferry through the narrow Naeroy Fjord and ascend the Flam Valley by electric train, a marvel of railway engineering. From Myrdal take the train back to Voss, passing through the three-mile-long Gravhals Tunnel. (B)(D)
Day 4
After breakfast at the hotel catch the train to Bergen (approx. 1.5-hour journey) and spend the afternoon exploring the city at leisure. (B)
Day 5
Breakfast at the hotel. Own arrangements to the terminal to board your Hurtigruten cruise to Trondheim departing Bergen in the evening. (B)
Day 6
Enjoy early morning in the breathtaking Nordfjord, followed by a delicious breakfast. Sail past West Cape for our approach to Ålesund, a town renowned for its beautiful architecture. (B)(L)(D)
Day 7
Head north to Trondheim, a historical town with an array of handsome civic architecture. (B)(L)(D)
Day 8
Cross the Arctic Circle to Bodø before sailing through the glorious Lofoten Islands. (B)(L)(D)
Day 9
Arrive in Tromsø, whose renowned Polar Museum offers a fascinating insight into Arctic life over the centuries. (B)(L)(D)
Day 10
Stop at Hammerfest and continue to Honningsvåg, the gateway to the stunning North Cape. (B)(L)(D)
Day 11
The vistas become even more dramatic as we approach Kirkenes, only a few kilometres from the Russian border. The ship turns around in Kirkenes to begin the journey south. (B)(L)(D)
Day 12
Stop at Hammerfest before continuing to Tromsø. (B)(L)(D)
Day 13
Sail through the Lofoten Islands’ intricate network of isles and inlets. (B)(L)(D)
Day 14
Travel across the Arctic Circle and through a land of legends to Rørvik. (B)(L)(D)
Day 15
Disembark the ship in Trondheim, the country’s historic capital. With its colourful warehouses, waterways and wooded hills, Norway’s thirdlargest city is without doubt one of its most photogenic. (B)
Day 16
Take the train to Røros (approx. 2.5-hour journey), a town whose unique industrial history has earned it a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. (B)
Day 17
Sit back for scenic train ride past soaring mountains and glittering lakes (approx. 5-hour journey). The tour ends on arrival in Oslo. (B)
