On arrival, be met and greeted at Lahad Datu Airport and transferred by 4WD into the Danum Valley – one of the world’s most complex ecosystems. Two-thirds of the 90 kilometre trip is on dirt roads through the vast Danum forests. On arrival, check in to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge. In the afternoon relax or explore some of the trails surrounding the lodge. After dinner, board one of the open-top 4WD vehicles for an exhilarating wildlife night tour, where you may see deer, civets, owls, or even a Clouded leopard. (L)(D)
Wake up to the jungle’s cacophony of sounds ranging from birds to primates, such as Bornean gibbons. Taking a packed breakfast, travel to a 200-year-old Kadazandusun Burial Site, known as “Coffin Cliff”, along the 2.6 kilometre Viewpoint Trail. At the end of the trail, be rewarded with spectacular views over vast rainforests, before a waterfall visit. After lunch, there is time to relax or enjoy one of the many trails or canopy walk close to the lodge. This evening take a night time jungle walk with a local guide. (B)(L)(D)
The morning is at leisure until your return transfer to Lahad Datu and your onward flight. (B)(L)

For each new Borneo (please confirm) booking made, Adventure World Travel will commit to a one-year sponsorship of an orangutan in need at the BOSF. This sponsorship assists with food, specialised care and support for the orangutans at the sanctuary. For each orangutan adopted Adventure World Travel receives a certificate of adoption, history and regular updates of the orangutan they adopt, which can then be shared with booked guests. Established in 1991, BOS Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and reintroduction of Bornean orangutans as well as the conservation of their natural habitat. With the assistance of local government, communities, volunteers and partners, the foundation works to ensure the orangutans are protected, effective reintroduced and monitored.
