Day 1

Upon arrival into Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to the Intercontinental hotel. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 2

Nairobi - Samburu Game Reserve

Leave Nairobi after an early breakfast and head north for Samburu. You'll pass near Thika and continue through some breathtaking scenery dotted with rushing mountain streams and fields of tea and coffee. After Nanyuki town, you'll continue north, eventually reaching a dusty outpost known as Isiolo, the last major stop on the journey into the remote northern frontier district. From here it's a fairly short hop to Samburu. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch before departing on an afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge as the sun sets. The landscape, wildlife and vegetation of Samburu Game Reserve is very different to the lush, rolling grasslands of other national parks in Kenya. Here you will find thorn-bush, open plains and vast horizons, along with Grevy’s zebra, the Somali blue necked ostrich, reticulated giraffe and dainty gerenuk. (B)(L)(D)

Day 3

Samburu Game Reserve

An early morning game drive is followed by breakfast and time to relax by the lodge pool or the terrace overlooking the river. After lunch you will enjoy another game drive, returning to the lodge as the sun sets. (B)(L)(D)

Day 4

Samburu Game Reserve – Aberdare National Park

Leaving Samburu behind travel south through Isiolo, crossing the foothills of Mount Kenya. On the other side of the mountain is Nanyuki, Naro Moru and Nyeri, one of Kenya's major towns and provincial headquarters before heading on to the Aberdare Country Club. Enjoy lunch amidst the beautiful gardens before transferring to The Ark, a uniquely shaped lodge tucked away in the Aberdares National Park where you will spend the night. (B)(L)(D)

Day 5

Aberdare National Park - Lake Nakuru

An early morning start takes you north west as you head for Nyahururu, still known to many as Thomson's Falls for its 237 foot cascade. Now travel in a southerly direction to your next destination, the spectacular Lake Nakuru. This is often coloured a shimmering flamingo pink, from the beautiful birds lining its shores. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Following lunch there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets. (B)(L)(D)

Day 6

Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara Game Reserve

After an early morning breakfast, drive to Narok town via Mai-Mahiu before proceeding on to the Mara, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch, depart for an afternoon game drive. You will spend the next two nights at Keekorok Lodge which lies at the southern end of the Masai Mara National Reserve. It is situated in the direct path of the annual migration and was the first lodge to be built in the Mara. At the height of the migration, Keekorok is surrounded by a swarming mass of animals and there is hardly need to go on a game drive. There are no fences around Keekorok and it is not uncommon to see elephant and buffalo on the perimeter of the grounds or even strolling in. (B)(L)(D)

Day 7

Masai Mara Game Reserve

Today you will enjoy early morning and afternoon game drives. It is possible to pre-book an optional early morning hot air balloon safari today. (B)(L)(D)

Day 8

Masai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi

After breakfast you’ll depart the Masai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Masailand. From here cross the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley whilst keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle before heading up the rift escarpment. Arrive into Kenya’s bustling capital in the early afternoon where your safari ends. (B)
