Walking ‘The Kora’ in Dharamsala

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the evening visit the Golden Temple to witness the night palki ceremony.
Start the day at the Golden Temple, followed by an insight into the community kitchen of the city, feeding thousands daily. Continue to Jalianwala Bagh and then finish the day witnessing the daily military practice between India and Pakistan at the Wagah border. (B)
Journey to Dharamsala. In the afternoon a Kora Walk, or holy walk, takes you around the temple and residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. With a bit of luck he may be in residence. (B)
Drive to Naddi Village. Take a short hike through the forest to Dharamkot and Bhagsu Nag Village, coming across a Buddhist stupa with meditation huts. Listen out for the chants from the seldom seen Tibetan monks. After lunch, visit a Tibetan centre dedicated to preserving traditional crafts. Finish up with some free time to explore a Tibetan market. (B)(L)(D)
Drive to Garli Village, stopping en route at Masroor Rock Temple. On arrival walk through the villages of Garli and Pragpur exploring the cobbled streets. (B)(L)(D)
Depart early this morning to Shimla. The afternoon is at leisure to explore this former British hill station town. (B)(L)
Explore Shimla on foot, walking through the lanes and alleyways of the town. Proceed to Book Cafe, run by prisoners of a Shimla jail, helping them to develop skills and interact with society. (B)
Spend the day in a Himalayan village with Dhami Royalty, followed by a royal lunch. (B)(L)
Transfer to the station for the trip to Kandaghat where a transfer will meet you to take you the rest of the way to Chandigarh. On arrival visit the Rock Garden and Rose Garden. (B)(L)
Board the train back to Delhi where your journey ends. (B)
