Day 2

Vancouver - Kamloops

On today’s Rocky Mountaineer journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the BC interior. (B)(L)

Day 3

Kamloops - Banff

Your journey continues to the mighty Canadian Rockies. You will see a spectacular array of scenery as you travel along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. (B)(L)

Day 4


This morning you are free to explore scenic Banff on your own. After lunch, enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of Banff National Park. Among the highlights are visits to Bow Falls, the Banff Gondola, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos.

Day 5

Banff - Lake Louise

A half day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge spanning the Kicking Horse River.

Day 6

Lake Louise - Jasper

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Banff and Jasper National Parks via the Icefields Parkway. The Columbia Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible icefields in North America. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. (L)

Day 7

Jasper - Onboard VIA Rail

This morning is free to explore the mountain town of Jasper. This afternoon, board VIA Rail’s ‘Canadian’ train heading east. (D)

Day 8

Onboard VIA Rail

Watch the scenery change as you leave the mountains for the prairies and Great Plains of Canada followed by the scenic lake lands of Ontario. (B)(L)(D)

Arrive in Toronto in the morning. The rest of the day is yours to explore Canada’s largest and most diverse city. (B)(L)(D)

Niagara Falls

Enjoy a full day tour through the orchardladen Niagara Peninsula to Niagara Falls, one of the great wonders of the world. Jump on board a cruise to get up close and feel the power of the Falls. (L)

Day 12

Toronto - Montreal

Follow the shores of Lake Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes of North America, on the rail journey to Montreal. (L)

Day 13


Explore the city of Montreal on a guided city tour. Highlights include Old Montreal, the Olympic Stadium and a panoramic view from the top of Mount Royal.

Day 14

Montreal - Quebec City

Travel by train to the heart of French Canada, historic and charming Quebec City. (L)

Quebec City

A guided walking tour today will highlight the architecture, history and culture of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 16

Quebec City

Depart Quebec City for the journey home, or extend your trip to discover the Atlantic Provinces.
