Truly life-changing trips, our Conservation Collection is designed with the fundamentals of sustainability in mind and our core belief that we should Travel with Purpose. These trips seek out hotels with sustainability practices in place and prioritise MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences, which are chosen with great care based on the positive social and environmental impact they have both the destination communities and those who experience them. These experiences are assessed against a robust set of criteria, built by our TreadRight team, which measures the way in which they advance the United Nations Global Goals.
To ensure we are on the right path, How We Tread Right is built around the Global Goals (officially known as the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs). Launched in 2015 by the United Nations, these Global Goals provide an interwoven response to some of the most critical challenges our world is currently faced with, and a set of functional targets to guide us towards progress.
MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences are conscious travel experiences that are chosen with great care for the positive social or environmental impact they have on their communities. Using a proprietary assessment tool endorsed by industry experts and developed exclusively for The Travel Corporation, of which Adventure World Travel is a member, MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences are assessed against a robust set of criteria directly tied to the UN Global Goals.
The TreadRight Foundation® is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the sustainable development of travel. Travel is an incredible gift. It has the ability to open our eyes to the unique cultures and spellbinding beauty of the natural world. But with this gift comes a responsibility - to MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® so that we may protect the world as we know it. At TreadRight, our mission is clear; to have a positive impact on the people and communities we visit, to protect wildlife and marine life, and to care for the planet we call home.
