Day 1
This morning fly by light aircraft into Camp Moremi or Camp Xakanaxa where you will spend the next two nights. Camp Moremi is situated on the edge of the Xakanaxa Lagoon on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta. It is in an area well known for its spectacular game-viewing opportunities. Camp Xakanaxa sits in a prime location on the banks of the Khwai river on the Xakanaxa Lagoon, in the heart of Moremi Game Reserve. (L)(D)
Day 2
Today you will have a choice of morning and afternoon game drives throughout the many different ecosystems that the Moremi Game Reserve has to offer or the possibility to explore the Xakanaxa Lagoon and its surrounding channels by boat. This blend of activities allows for access to incredible landscapes, impressive wildlife as well as the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque waters of the Okavango Delta Moremi Game Reserve’s incredible wetlands support a vast number of antelope, including Impala, Kudu and Waterbuck. The majestic Fish Eagle and vivid Malachite Kingfisher are frequently seen and even the rare Pel’s Fishing Owl makes an occasional appearance, to the delight of guides and guests alike. (B)(L)(D)
Day 3
After breakfast, you will be transferred by charter plane to Camp Okavango or Xugana Island Lodge. Camp Okavango is situated on remote Nxaragha Island in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, assuring a year-round water wilderness experience. Xugana Island Lodge sits in the heart of Xugana Lagoon which is widely accepted as being the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta. Enjoy game viewing by mokoro or motorboat. Bird watching opportunities are outstanding and fishing for bream or tiger fish is also an option. (B)(L)(D)
Day 4
Water-based activities are conducted by experienced professional guides who will expertly navigate guests through the many meandering, reed-lined waterways. Roam the vast expanses of water from the comfort of a modern motorboat or explore the intricacies of the Okavango Delta the quiet old-fashioned way, in the traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) For those wanting to get a little closer to nature, today provides the opportunity to take part in one of the guided bush walks that are conducted on a number of the nearby islands. This activity offers an opportunity to track some of the larger land-based species that inhabit this water wilderness. (B)(L)(D)
Day 5
Continue to Kasane by air charter and transfer to Chobe Game Lodge. Built along the banks of the Chobe River and offers un-surpassing views of the Chobe River and floodplains from its numerous communal areas as well as all its guest rooms. Because of this incredible location, when staying at Chobe Game Lodge, guests have direct access to this amazing wildlife experience without having to enter and exit the National Park with every activity. The ability to observe the sun setting over the Chobe River, with a herd of elephant crossing through the river as a silhouette, is a potential experience unique to guests at Chobe Game Lodge. Day 6
Early-morning and late-afternoon game drives are conducted by expert guides in open-sided 4×4 vehicles to ensure maximum visibility of Chobe National Park’s spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. Chobe Game Lodge has introduced four electric-powered game drive vehicles for a more immersive, carbon-emission free safari. Meanwhile, riverside game viewing is done from the lodges full fleet of solar-electric powered safari boats offering silent safaris on Botswana’s renowned Chobe River. Chobe’s diverse wildlife roams in abundance – it is, for instance, home to the largest concentration of elephant in Africa. During the dry season these large herds, as well as vast herds of buffalo, congregate on the fertile flood plains along the Chobe River to drink, bathe and play. There are frequent sightings of lion, African wild dog, puku, red lechwe, sable, giraffe and roan antelope. (B)(L)(D)
