My 2020 #TTCTop10:

[1] NSW SOUTH COAST, AUSTRALIA

AdventureWorldTravel does not offer an Australian product collection, so you may be wondering why I have this on my list. My beloved home is in Jervis Bay, located in the Shoalhaven region of the NSW South Coast. The Shoalhaven has been devastated by the ravages of the recent Australian Bush Fires. This region is so heavily dependent on tourism that I would like to encourage everyone to plan a future visit to support the region, or any area in Australia that has been impacted.

I am proud to be associated with the contribution made by our parent company, The Travel Corporation (TTC), to the NSW Rural Fire Service – a donation of $100K, which was made in December 2019. The danger they put themselves in on a daily basis to protect the community and its surrounding area is heroic. Our hearts go out to the loss of life, property, wildlife and nature from Australia’s bushfire tragedy. Funds go towards technology and necessities such as radios, floodlights, GPS for the trucks, maintenance, fuel, food and training.

[2] BORNEO

What Joanna Lumley did for the Silk Road, Judi Dench did for Borneo with her TV series, sparking a surge in enquiries from customers wanting to recreate her wildlife-filled journey. Both states of Sarawak and Sabah boast some of the world’s most fascinating wildlife, found here only. Seeing Pygmy elephants beside the river, Proboscis monkeys with their long noses and big bellies high up in the trees and Orangutans in their natural habitat is a wildlife enthusiasts dream come true…

Check out this amazing Borneo video from one of our travellers!

[3] ATLANTIC CANADA

From the rushing fury of the world’s highest tides to serene red sands and sublime seafood, the four provinces that make up Atlantic Canada – New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island – offer travellers an array of activities from exploring picture postcard fishing villages, rail journeys that hug the coast, to iconic drives such as the Cabot Trail. Australasian travellers have taken notice and are sure to be spotted enjoying a beachside lobster and clam bake!

[4] TANZANIA

There truly is something to suit every kind of traveller in Tanzania. From incredible game reserves teeming with wildlife to luxurious accommodation and incredible culture and food. A jewel in Tanzania's crown is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera and haven to a wondrous array of animal life which makes the crater a "must do" on any visit to Tanzania.

[6] NORWAY

Scandinavia is the latest collection offered at AdventureWorldTravel, and judging by current demand it seems like the world over has this destination high on their list. Norway’s natural wonders will astound even the most seasoned traveller with incredibly steep fjords of extraordinary beauty, cascading waterfalls down tall mountains and grand glaciers that never melt.

[7] SRI LANKA

After a tumultuous year for tourism – devastated by the Easter bombings and against all the odds, Sri Lanka has rebounded strongly to be a much in-demand destination. The 'Pearl of the Indian Ocean' has many highlights, including spectacular hill country, wildlife-filled national parks and an idyllic tropical coastline. A personal recommendation is a stay in the jungles of Gal Oya and enjoy a boat ride in search of swimming elephants.

[8] EGYPT

This destination never disappoints and when I took my partner and best friends here in 2019, they were in-awe of the history, architecture and hospitality of the Egyptian people. Even though Egypt has rebounded strongly in recent years, you can still avoid the crowds with our tailor-made trips. If you are prepared to be an early riser then our expert guides will take you to the most-sought temples before most travellers have even had their first morning coffee.

[9] PATAGONIA

Rugged, snow-capped mountain peaks frame glacier-fed lakes, where the water is such a brilliant turquoise hue that you’d think you’re in the South Pacific. Ice flows tumble down from the huge craggy glaciers, and waterfalls stream into lush, pristine valleys. Patagonia is not just a hiker’s paradise but truly has something for all lovers of nature and wildlife.

[10] OREGON, USA

This rates as my parents most epic road trip, which is a high endorsement based on all the places we have travelled together. But what’s not to love, whilst devouring epic doughnuts and quenching small -batch craft beers in Portland, to driving along the most spectacular coast as you stay at charming lighthouses and boutique inns. Plus, did I mention the seafood!

Take me there: Pacific Northwest

Wishing you all an amazing 2020 full of adventurous journeys to add to your memory bank.
