Day 1


Spend the morning exploring Seattle before embarking on your ship, either the National Geographic Sea Bird or Sea Lion. (D)

Day 2

Gulf Islands

Cruise amid the lush Gulf Islands in the Strait of Georgia—which runs between mainland British Columbia and Vancouver Island—and search for some of the many marine mammals that inhabit these waters.(B)(L)(D)

Day 3

Johnstone Strait and Alert Bay

Visit the U’mista Cultural Centre in Alert Bay, where we’ll watch traditional First Nations performances and learn about the art and culture of the Kwakwaka’wakw people. (B,L,D)

Day 4

Inside Passage of British Columbia

Sail northward along steep and rugged coastline looking for whales, dolphins, bears, deer and other wildlife. Go ashore to explore or kayak the remote bays and inlets. (B,L,D)

Day 5

Inside Passage of British Columbia

Continue exploring the wonders of the Inside Passage with its coves, inlets and opportunities for wildlife spotting. (B,L,D) 

Day 6

Haida Gwaii

With very special permission, we explore the islands of Haida Gwaii, including the incredible Gwaii Haanas National Park & Haida Heritage Site. We will be joined by a Haida Interpreter for our days among the islands, wildlife and cultural sites. In the Haida ancestral town of Old Massett, we are invited into a home of a local carver for a feast of traditional foods and dance. (B,L,D).

Day 7

Haida Gwaii

Meet Haida artists and see their workshops. Visit the Haida Heritage Center at Kay Llnagaay to learn about the incredible history of the Haida people and their renowned artwork, a spiritual endeavor. See the ancient totems at SGang Gwaay (Ninstints), kayak and take Zodiacs around the incredibly biodiverse islands in Gwaii Haanas. (B,L,D)

Day 8

Haida Gwaii

Another day to explore the "Galapagos of the North" Haida Gwaii. Haida Gwaii, previously known as the Queen Charlotte Islands, is an archipelago off British Columbia’s west coast, in Canada. The islands are home to dramatic landscapes, abundant wildlife, and some of the world’s richest heritage treasures with more than 500 archeological sites. Haida Gwaii’s climate produces lush vegetation and abundant wildlife. (B,L,D)

Day 9

Haida Gwaii

Attention has long focused on the many unique species of flora and fauna, however the real soul of the islands is the Haida culture itself. The Haida culture, the remote location, and the ocean mist drifting through moss-draped cedars all contribute to the islands’ mystical atmosphere, best experienced without expectations. (B,L,D).

Day 10

Misty Fjords

Join naturalists on deck and search for orcas, humpback whales and Stellar sea lions. Spend three days encountering spectacular scenery and wildlife in Alaska’s famed Inside Passage. Explore the forested backwaters of Misty Fiords National Monument by kayak or expedition landing craft.(B, L, D).

Day 11

St Petersburg

Go ashore to visit the charming fishing village of Petersburg, and explore the surrounding area on a forest walk or on an optional bicycle ride or flightseeing excursion (at an additional cost.) (B, L, D).

Day 12

Tracy Arm - Ford's Terror Wilderness

Voyage into Tracy or Endicott Arm, both spectacular fjords, with waterfalls cascading from glacially carved walls. See the soaring Dawes or South Sawyer Glacier for an unbeatable view of sculpted icebergs. (B,L,D)

Day 13

Glacier Bay National Park

Spend the day among the glaciers and wilderness. Listen as the stillness is broken by the thunder of tons of ice calving into the sea. Search for Steller sea lions, puffins and mountain goats. A native Tlingit interpreter will share the lore and legend of the area. (B,L,D)

Day 14

Icy Strait and the Inian Islands

Cruise among the Inian Islands where an abundance of Steller sea lions reside. Hike nearby islands, kayak and search for whales in the rich waters of Icy Strait. (B)(L)(D)

Day 15


Visit Saint Michael's Russian Orthodox Cathedral and meet eagles at the Raptor Rehabilitation Center before transferring to the airport. (B)
