Day 1

Houston

Arrive in America’s fourth largest city and check in to your hotel. If jetlag allows, head out exploring this cosmopolitan destination filled with world-class dining, arts and nightlife. Stroll through the historic Heights, explore the Museum district or visit the NASA Space Centre. With 10,000 restaurants representing cuisine from more than 70 countries, Houston’s food scene is as diverse as its residents. 
 

Day 2

Houston - Austin

The ‘Live Music Capital of the World’, Austin is also home to a mouth-watering array of dining experiences. Start the day with breakfast tacos, check out the food truck scene, or enjoy some delicious Tex-Mex. For the ultimate Texas experience, there are some brilliant barbecue restaurants that are bound to keep you full. If you have the stamina, the iconic Franklin BBQ is the place to be.  Be prepared to wait a couple of hours. Later, be sure to visit Rainey Street, where renovated houses turned into bungalow bars mix with food trucks for a relaxed vibe. Don’t forget to experience Sixth Street, with its colourful and bustling array of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues.

Day 4

Austin - Fredericksburg

On your drive from Austin to Fredericksburg, swing by Hamilton Pool, a stunning water hole where you can cool off, or stop by The Salt Lick BBQ, for all-you-can-eat meat. The heart of Texan wine country, Fredericksburg is one of the USA’s largest producers of wine. With over 30 vineyards in the region, you can go from winery to winery sampling all that they have to offer, while also tasting some of the delectable treats.  Originally settled by Germans in the 1840’s, Fredericksburg offers plenty of bratwurst options, and of course, a couple of breweries to check out.

Day 6

Fredericksburg - San Antonio

Truly a city of two sides, with the historic missions including the Alamo and the modern Riverwalk, San Antonio has something for everyone. Take the time to uncover the history of the Battle of the Alamo, then relax with a boat tour down the beautiful Riverwalk. As a bright star in the culinary sky, San Antonio offers food lovers the opportunity to visit acclaimed restaurants, local diners, farmers’ markets and specialty shops. See for yourself why San Antonio is now one of 180 UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy.

Day 8

Houston

As you travel back to Houston, the little town of Luling is known for big flavours. Whether you prefer sweet or meat, both are delicious here. Gorge yourself on juicy watermelon or fill up on some of the best barbecue in the Lone Star State -- either way you'll leave town full. And while you're eating your way through town, you'll also find some pretty epic nature spots. Spend one final night in Houston, before your onward journey.
