South Pacific 2011 Voyage Schedule

From May to November 2011 Tallship Soren Larsen undertakes a series of voyages to the very best of the tropical South Seas.

From May to November 2011 we sail to the best destinations and favourite places chosen after 20 years exploring the tropical islands, lagoons and anchorages of Oceania. Sailing Holidays in the South Pacific and sailing adventure for all ages.

The thrill and challenge of blue water ocean sailing provides total involvement in the ship, with time to master the rig, become confident aloft or learn something of ocean navigation. 

Or you can take a more leisurely island cruise navigating between tropical anchorages and exploring an island paradise ashore untouched by modern tourism.  

You will be signed on to ship's articles as Voyage Crew. Alongside the permanent crew you will stand watches, take the helm, handle lines, raise sail and let the routines of a sailing ship take you back to a slower more relaxed era.

Choose which type of voyage suits you best.

An ocean passage from New Zealand to Rarotonga, in the Cook Islands starts the season and sets Soren Larsen up for a tropical trade wind route across Polynesia and Melanesia.

From Raro we sail north and west on a series of voyages. First to the remote northern Cooks, and Robert Louis Stevenson’s Samoa. In Tonga at the whale breeding grounds of Vava'u we find South Pacific tropical cruising at its most idyllic.

From there we sail westwards with the trade winds from Tonga to the outer islands of colourful Fiji. We explore the wild untouched beauty and undisturbed culture of the islands of Vanuatu, sailing as far north as the rarely visited islands of the Banks group. A voyage from Vanuatu to Noumea sails vis the dramatic volcanic island of Tanna . We see the classical South Sea beauty of New Caledonia in Noumea's massive lagoon. 

An authentic square rig passage to Sydney Harbour via Lord Howe island or a trans-Tasman voyage home to New Zealand is a blue water sailing adventure at its best.  

Voyage berth cost includes 3 meals a day onboard Soren Larsen. Wine, beer and other drinks are available and paid for individually.

Guests will be signed on to ship's articles as Voyage Crew. This is an authentic sailing adventure through amazing destinations. 

Treking and hiking ashore at the many islands and bays is a key feature of the experience and affords us the opportunity to see a part of New Zealand that is missed by the conventional traveler.
