This tour is a wonderful introduction to Panama. Travel through parts of the famous Panama Canal, experience an indigenous Indian community and absorb the Spanish history in the capital city.
On arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to El Panama Hotel for six nights.
Take the trans-continental rail journey along the historical route to Portobelo. Tour this site before returning by train to Panama City.
Tour the city and visit the Inter-Oceanic Canal Museum and the Miraflores locks to experience the Panama Canal operating first hand. Evening dinner and show.
Board a boat and travel through the locks to arrive at Gamboa, headquarters of the Panama Canal Dredging Division.
Full day tour to El Valle de Anton, a village located in the centre of an extinct volcano. Visit El Macho waterfall and the local handicraft market.
Take a motorised dugout canoe up the Chagres River to visit the Embera-Drua community. Tour with the medicine man who will explain the use of plants as natural medicines.
Transfer to the airport.
