The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights are giant electrical storms formed by solar flares from the sun reacting with the earth’s magnetic field. Fort McMurray in Northern Alberta is rated one of the best viewing locations in the world to view this spectacular natural phenomenan.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive Fort McMurray

    Arrive in Fort McMurray where you will be outfitted with winter clothing and given an orientation of the area. This evening enjoy your first Aurora viewing experience whilst listening to interpretive commentary. 

  • Day 2: Fort McMurray 

    This evening enjoy a welcome dinner and Aurora slide show, then return to the viewing site to see the Northern Lights. 

  • Day 3: Fort McMurray

    After another leisure day, tonight is your final chance to view the Aurora Borealis. The guides are astronomers that can answer questions on this striking natural occurrence in the Canadian North. 

  • Day 4: Depart Fort McMurray

    Transfer back to Fort McMurray airport where your tour ends on arrival.
