Lycian Coast by Traditional Gulet

Take a relaxed exploration of Turkey’s Lycian Coast on a traditional gulet sail boat. Originally fishing boats, these have evolved into sailing yachts with full amenities, and remain a popular way to explore the region. Gulets generally offer large decks for lounging or sunning and cabins with private bathrooms but no air-conditioning.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Marmaris

  • Embark at Marmaris’ harbour this afternoon and receive a welcome briefing from the captain and crew.

  • Day 2: Marmaris – Ekincik

  • Sail across beautiful bays surrounded by forested hills for Ekincik. An optional tour is available to the ruins of Dalyan and Canous by small boat. The ancient ruins found at both sites are sure to impress.  

  • Day 3: Ekincik – Kizilkuyruk

  • Sail to Kizilkuyruk for lunch. The afternoon is free to explore nearby Lycian ruins, swim or relax onboard.  

  • Day 4: Kizilkuyruk – Fethiye/Gocek

  • Visit several of the islands of Skopea Limani, sailing in and out of some of the prettiest anchorages. In the evening moor at either Fethiye or Gocek, both favourable destinations.  

  • Day 5: Fethiye/Gocek – Gemilir Island

  • Mid-morning, head to the pebble-white shores of Oludeniz for swimming and sunbathing. Set sail in the afternoon for a nearby island, with the opportunity to walk the Greek ghost town of Kayakoy on an optional tour. Anchor in Gemilir Island for the night.  

  • Day 6: Gemilir Island – Ekincik Bay

  • Cruise again, this time to the headland at Disibilmez and into the pretty island of Baba Adasi. Stop in Ekincik Bay for dinner.

  • Day 7: Gocek Island – Marmaris

  • Cross the impressive Loryma Peninsula today, stopping at Ince Island for a swim. In the afternoon, continue sailing toward Marmaris with one final swim stop in the turquoise waters en-route. Anchor overnight in Marmaris Harbour.  

  • Day 8: Marmaris

  • Your gulet cruise experience ends with disembarkation this morning.
