Turkey is an astounding country with a rich and diverse history. At every turn the archeological sights, stunning architecture and warmth of the locals surpass expectations. This tour explores the country from Istanbul to Gallipoli where you can pay your respects to those who fought in the trenches taking part in the Anzac Day dawn service.

Itinerary

This tour will allow you to relax as you visit the vibrant city of Istanbul, cross the Dardanelles and take part in the dawn service. Be at Anzac Cove as the sun rises and the last post is played, a truly moving experience.

  • Apr 21st Sat: Arrival - Istanbul

    Welcome to Istanbul, where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, meet your guide and the rest of your group. Overnight Istanbul

  • Apr 22nd Sun: Istanbul Old City

    After breakfast, you enjoy a fully guided tour of the only city to span two continents, visiting the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace and the Hippodrome. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey and today we also have the chance to learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value. Tonight you get to know your travelling companions a little better and enjoy some Turkish cuisine at your welcome dinner. Overnight Istanbul (B, L, D)

  • Apr 23 Mon: Gallipoli Battlefields

    Depart for the Gallipoli peninsula early morning and tour this now serene site. Visiting original trenches and tunnels and ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, Johnston's Jolly and The Nek before a short ferry ride across the Dardanelles.   • Apr 24 Tue:Helles Services, Troy

    Today we spend the morning at the southern tip of the Gallipoli peninsula at the International Service at the Turkish memorial, Mehmetcik Abide, and then the Commonwealth service at the British memorial. We then head back across the Dardanelles and visit the archaeological ruins of Troy. Your afternoon is free to explore or rest prior to an 11 pm departure for ANZAC Cove.   • Apr 25 Wed: ANZAC Day at Gallipoli

    At the ANZAC Dawn Service we will commemorate our fallen forefathers on this special day. We also attend the Australian &/or New Zealand Memorial services before returning to our hotel for some well deserved rest. Overnight Guzelyali (B, D)

  • Apr 26 Thu: Istanbul, Bosphorous Cruise

    Today we have a late morning departure back to Istanbul. This afternoon you will experience Istanbul with a waterfront view on an afternoon cruise of the Bosphorous. Overnight Istanbul (B)

  • Apr 27 Fri: Istanbul

    After breakfast, our tour concludes and we say goodbye to our new friends. (B)
