Itinerary

  • Day 1-2: Tallinn

    Join your tour in Tallinn for a walking tour of the old town, then board your overnight train to Moscow.  

  • Day 3-4: Moscow

    Wander through the cavernous red-walled Kremlin with its incredible complex of palaces, cathedrals and churches. Outside is the vast space of Red Square and the famous multi-coloured onion-domes of St Basil’s, where Ivan the Terrible once worshipped. 

  • Day 5-7: Moscow – St Petersburg

    Travel around the loop of old cities known as the Zolotoye Koltso, or “Golden Ring”.  Each of these ancient towns is hauntingly beautiful. Sergiev Posad features golden domes, Vladimir with its 12th century Golden Gates was Russia’s former capital, and Suzdal on the Kamenka River has a wealth of medieval buildings. Also visit Yaroslavl and the Monastery of the Transfiguration, before boarding your overnight train to St Petersburg.

  • Day 8-10: St Petersburg

    Enjoy three full days discovering and admiring the architectural opulence and treasures of this wonderful city. Highlights include the Hermitage, Museum of Art and the sumptuous Palace of Catherine the Great in nearby Pushkin. 

  • Day 11: St Petersburg – Tallinn

    Travel by bus back to Estonia and Tallinn, where your tour ends.
