Overview for Hungary
Hungary is home to eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites including its own capital city of Budapest. Just a short hop from Vienna, Hungary is the land of Romany gypsy music and the romantic Danube River.
Budapest is laid out on both sides of the Danube with the old Roman district of Buda on one side, elegant Pest on the other and claims one of the most spectacular views in all Europe. The city is ideal for those exploring by foot with loads famous cafes to relax in afterwards.
The city of Eger is another historical Hungarian town with fabulous monuments, known as the wine capital of the north it is well worth a visit, especially to try some native brews!

When to go
Hungary has a temperate continental climate. Seasons are usually well defined, with July and August the hottest months (28-30C) with December - January being the coldest. The average sunshine from April to September is in excess of eight hours a day.
