The Truong Son Mountain Range, including Dak Lak, Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces, boasts a varied history, stunning scenery, great coffee and fascinating minority villages.
On arrival at Pleiku Airport transfer to Kon Tum. After settling in, venture out to visit Gia Rai villages. Each village has a communal house called a rong, a central stilt house with a tall, steeply pitched thatched roof. No nails are used in the bamboo construction.
This morning take a one hour drive to visit the Sodra people in Kon Ray and Kon Bil villages. Drive on to a Jo Long hill tribe village and catch glimpses of hand weaving on giant looms. Continue to Kon Ko Tu village where you will embark on a four km trek along the riverbank. Return by a wooden canoe where dinner is a local treat of song and dance. (B)(D)
Depart back to Kom Tum to explore the town’s 120 year old wooden church. Continue on to visit the Bahnar hill tribe groups of Pleitenghia and Kanhnogokotu, where animist beliefs are still a part of everyday life. From here the journey to Boun Ma Thuot is about five hours. Visit the local market and try a coffee in one of the lovely outdoor coffee shops. (B)
This morning, drive 1.5 hr to Lak Lake and visit an ethnic minority village. Enjoy an elephant ride and then return to Buon Ma Thuot via Dray Sap waterfall. Transfer to the airport. (B)
