Itinerary

  • Day 1: Saigon – Cai Be

    Leave the buzzing city of Saigon for Cai Lay in the Mekong Delta. Jump on your bikes for the short journey to Cai Be, pedalling along back roads. Stop for lunch on an island in the middle of the river before continuing on to a local homestay run by Mr and Mrs Ba. Dinner will be prepared by the home stay hosts. (Cycle 18-30km) (L)(D)

  • Day 2: Cai Be – Vinh Long – Tra Vinh

    Transfer by road to Vinh Long and embark on a boat journey out to one of the Mekong Islands. Bike along narrow country lanes and trails, witnessing colourful riverside life and chatting with welcoming villagers. Cross the expansive Co Chien River and then the final stretch is along quiet roads to the charming Khmer town of Tra Vinh. (Cycle 40kms). (B)(L)(D)

  • Day 3: Tra Vinh – Can Tho

    Cycle as much or as little as you like as the support vehicle is following at all times. The road is peaceful, narrow and very pretty all the way to Can Tho! Visit a local Buddhist Temple School and learn about the life of the students. Arrive late this afternoon at Can Tho, the Mekong’s largest town. (Cycle 40- 80kms)(B)(L)(D)

  • Day 4: Can Tho – Saigon

    Weave through the bustle of the morning market and cycle along the banks of the river to Phong Dien floating market and absorb the sights of local industries. The next stretch explores the hidden backwaters of the Delta. Stop for lunch before returning to Can Tho and then by road to Saigon. (Cycle 40kms) (B)(L)
