Itinerary

  • Day 1: Saigon

    Arrive in Saigon and transfer to hotel.

  • Day 2: Saigon

    Depart your hotel for a full day city tour. Head to Cholon, the city’s Chinatown district, Vietnam's first traditional medicine museum, the FITO Museum and then head back into the city to visit Ben Thanh Market. Continue this afternoon to the War Remnants Museum, the former Presidential Palace, the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street and City Hall.(B)

  • Day 3: Mekong Delta

    Explore the colourful floating market, vast emerald rice fields and lush back waterways of Cai Be on a cruise of the area. Continue to a cottage factory where ‘pop-rice’, rice paper and coconut candies are made. Return to the boat for the cruise to Dong Hoa Hiep Island, the transfer by road back to Saigon. (B)(L)

  • Day 4: Saigon - Hoi An

    Fly to Danang and transfer to Hoi An. Take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit the former merchants’ homes, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colourful market. In the afternoon take a sunset boat trip. (B)

  • Day 5: Hoi An - Hue

    Leave Hoi An for Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Drive through Danang and visit the Cham Museum, before climbing over the Hai Van Pass, and dropping down to the fishing village of Lang Co. In Hue, visit the Imperial Citadel and Thien Mu Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River. (B)

  • Day 6: Hue – Hanoi

    Start your day with a visit to the city’s vibrant Dong Ba Market and then take a cyclo through the ‘Old City’ to Tinh Tam Lake where the Emperors used to come to relax. Drive on to Khai Dinh’s Tomb before transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. (B)

  • Day 7: Hanoi

    A city tour will take you to One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, West Lake and one of the oldest Buddhist pagodas in Hanoi, Tran Quoc. In the afternoon visit the fascinating Ehtnology Museum before a walking tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. (B)

  • Day 8: Hanoi - Halong Bay

    Journey to Halong Bay through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta, observing everyday life of villagers as they work in the rice fields. Board your traditional wooden junk and cruise the bay. Towards the end of the day set anchor for the night and as the sun sets dinner is served. (B)(L)(D)

  • Day 9: Halong - Hanoi

    Return to Halong City and transfer back to Hanoi. At leisure for shopping until your transfer to Hanoi Airport for onward flight. (B)
