This private tour departs from Hue and allows travellers to see the best of Hue and Hoi An as well as giving them the opportunity to contribute to a range of charity establishments.
Upon arrival in Hue you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
This morning enjoy a guided tour of the Imperial Citadel. After exploring the ruins depart for the Mausoleum of Tu Duc. For lunch you’ll dine at an orphanage which has been run by nuns since 1987. Lunch is served in the tranquil pagoda grounds by the resident nuns. Following lunch, visit a third generation traditional kite maker. Your visit will help to keep this unique craft alive. After watching his delicate handiwork, you can purchase one of his special kites and (weather permitting) join the school children who gather by the lake to fly their kites. (B)(L)(D).
Depart for the Hue College of Medicine and Pharmacy who’s ‘Office for Genetic Counselling and Disabled Children’ centre offers vocational training to disabled youth as well as running a rehabilitation centre, programmes for children with intellectual disabilities and heart operation programmes. From here continue to Khai Dinh’s Tomb before a traditional Vietnamese lunch and departure for Hoi An. En-route stop in Danang at the Cham Museum. (B)(L).
After breakfast take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit former merchants’ houses, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, a Chinese communal hall and the colourful market. Have lunch at Streets, a not-for-profit, sustainable, social enterprise initiative for street kids and other disadvantaged youth. In the afternoon visit Children’s Hope in Action (CHIA), a grassroots non government organisation to especially care for some of the most disadvantaged children in Quang Nam province, central Vietnam. Today is free for last minute shopping or sightseeing before departing to Danang Airport. (B).
