Lampang Mahout Training and Homestay

Itinerary

 

• Day 1: Chiang Mai – Lampang

  Pick up in Chiang Mai and transfer to the National Elephant Institute in Lampang. Upon arrival, watch the elephants taking their morning bath. With their trainers, the elephants will demonstrate a number of skills for you. The afternoon will be entirely dedicated to your first steps into the mahout career, learning the basics of elephant handling at the show ground. L, D.

• Day 2: Lampang – Chiang Mai

  Early this morning, head toward the jungle where you retrieve your elephant and take it back to the institute. A hot breakfast will be served before resuming the training programme at the show ground. After elephant bathing, it’s your turn to join the daily demonstration with other elephants! A certificate ceremony is held at the end of the show. Then it’s time to say goodbye to your elephant and transfer to Chiang Mai where you will arrive early afternoon. B.
