Discover one of the less visited countries in South East Asia in complete luxury. Start in the colonial city of Yangon and visit its many pagodas and animated streets. The Strand Yangon is the city’s heritage hotel built in 1901 and you will experience the hotel’s elegantly appointed and spacious suites. Explore Inle Lake headquartered from your lakeside suite and learn about the local’s traditional crafts. The Inle Princess Resort is a tranquil property set on stilts over the shallow waters along the lake’s eastern shoreline, with the rolling hills and blue skies as a sweeping backdrop. Discover Bagan and admire the spires’ golden tint reflecting off the sun’s rays on your horse carriage.

• Day 1: Yangon

  Transfer to your hotel via an authentic colonial coach. Known as the ‘Elephant Coach’, this six seater van is a restored 1945 vintage Chevrolet bus and is a stylish way to arrive. This afternoon, enjoy a tour of Yangon’s colonial city centre with its many cultural delights. View the city from the Sakura Tower and conclude your tour with a stop at the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda. As the sun sets, watch the colours change on the 100 metre high chedi which is covered by over 40 tons of gold leaf. Overnight at The Strand.

• Day 2: Yangon – Heho – Inle Lake

  Morning flight to Heho. Enjoy a scenic drive to Inle Lake. Board a private local motorboat that will escort your to your hotel. Along the way, pass stilted villages, the leg-rowing Intha fishermen and floating gardens anchored to the lake’s bottom with bamboo poles. Your hotel is nestled near the lake’s shores and its stitled buildings have spectacular views from the balconies. This evening enjoy a traditional Shan Style dinner at the hotel. • Day 3: Inle – Indein – Inle Lake

  Experience the local lifestyle as you take a boat trip along a small canal leading to the Phao village of In Dein. Stroll through the village, visiting a local school and bustling markets. On the return journey stop at a nearby village for a private lunch at an Intha House in the Nampan Village. Return to the resort for a relaxing and luxurious afternoon at the spa. As the sun sets, enjoy a wine tasting experience at the Inle Princess’s Wine Cave and dinner at the resort.Overnight at the Inle Princess Resort. (B,L,D)

• Day 4: Inle Lake – Heho – Bagan

  This morning tour the lake’s villages to learn about the cottage industries. Visit a weaving village and a cheerot factory where typical Burmese cigars are made by hand. This afternoon transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Bagan. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Thiripyitsaya Sakura.(B)

• Day 5: Bagan

  Start the day with a visit to the colourful Nyaung Oo Market where dozens of vendors come to sell their fresh produce and products. Continue to the glittering Shwezigon Pagoda, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas. Visit a cave temple with exquisite jatakas mural paintings. This afternoon, visit the New Bagan area and watch craftsmen produce handmade lacquerware at an old workshop. As the day comes to a close, embark on a sunset cruise. Enjoy a cocktail and stunning view of Bagan as you cruise along the Irawaddy River.Overnight at Thiripyitsaya Sakura.(B)

• Day 6: Bagan – Yangon

  This morning travel to famed temples such as Ananda and Dhamayangi by traditional horse cart. This afternoon transfer to the airport for your return flight to Yangon. On arrival, transfer by Elephant Coach to your hotel. This evening enjoy dinner at the elegant Le Planteur Restaurant. Overnight at The Strand.(B,D)

• Day 7: Yangon

  This morning, head to the picturesque Bogyoke Market, known for its colonial architecture and inner cobblestone streets.Transfer to the airport. (B)
