Itinerary

  • Day 1: Chiang Pakse – Bolaven Plateau

    After transferring to your hotel take a short tour of Pakse town, on the confluence of the Mekong and Seden River.

    Your tour is followed by a drive through the Boloven Plateau stopping en-route at the waterfalls of Tad Lo, Tad Hang and the most impressive waterfall of Tad Suong.

    In the afternoon, continue to Tad Yuang and Tad Fane waterfalls dropping 120m down to the Champy and Pak Koot Rivers. On return to Pakse, visit a tea and/or a coffee plantation. (B)

  • Day 2: Pakse – Khong Island

    After breakfast, transfer by road to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Wat Phou.

    Return to Champassak and continue on to Ban Kiet Ngong stopping en-route at a wood carving village, to enjoy lunch with the villagers. After lunch mount your elephants for the 90 minute ride through the forest and up to Mount Asa. After the elephant ride continue on to Khong Island, the start of the 4000 Islands Region. (B)

  • Day 3: Khong Island – Siphandon – Pakse

    In the morning visit Don Det and Don Khone. These quiet islands do not have any cars and electricity is only provided in the evening. Continue to Lippi Falls, and after a stroll through the palm-fringed villages nearby journey to the southernmost part of Laos and the imposing Khone Papheng waterfalls, return by road to Pakse. (B)

  • Day 3: Pakse

    Transfer to the airport or the Thai border if you wish for onward travel.(B)
