A short drive to Wat Amphil, a traditional village set amidst a sea of rice fields extending to the might Tonle Sap Lake. Here, on the premises of a picturesque wat, you will find your home for the night - large tents with plenty of amenities. Set out to explore the village and its surroundings and take the chance to interact with the locals. Late afternoon, head out to the nearby banks of Tonlé Sap Lake. Board a local boat and visit Mechrey ecotourism village. The cruise will take you past floating villages and impressive flooded forests, portraying life on the water. Enjoy sunset cocktails and snacks on the boat before returning to the camp for a local BBQ dinner.(L,D)
Rise early to witness the resident monks perform their morning rituals at Wat Amphil. A private blessing ceremony wishes you good luck on your journey. After breakfast enjoy a gentle bicycle ride (30km) to the hidden Angkorian temple of Wat Athvea. Return to Siem Reap Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.(B)
