Start the morning with a visit to the fascinating Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre to observe how orang utans are being taught to fend for themselves. Continue to Matang Wildlife Park, where animals who cannot be returned to the wild are cared for. Return to the historical waterfront city of Kuching for an enlightening city tour. L, D.
Depart this morning to Bako Village and travel by motorised boat along the coast to Bako National Park where you can trek through mangrove forest to observe the proboscis monkeys, and a plenitude of botanical delights. B, L, D.
Depart this morning for the award-winning Sarawak Cultural Village, a unique ‘living museum’ sitting on a sprawling 17 acre site. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your flight to multi-cultural Miri. B, L, D.
After a scenic countryside drive reach a traditional Iban longhouse accommodating 95 families, living together as their forebears have for centuries. Enjoy a cultural performance and tour before continuing to Lambir Hills National Park for a walk to a pretty waterfall under the canopy of the tropical rainforest. Return to Miri for a brief tour, including the panoramic lookout at Canada Hill. B, L, D.
Fly to Mulu National Park and enjoy a guided three km plank walk through Mulu’s amazing tropical rainforest. Discover Lang Cave and its beautiful formations and walk through the world’s largest grotto entrance - the immense Deer Cave. B, L, D.
Take a longboat through the winding rivers to a tribal Penan settlement. Continue upriver to the enchanting Wind and Clearwater Caves. At 118 km long, Clearwater Cave was formed by lapping waters. B, L, D.
Take a return flight to Miri for your onward connecting flights. B.
