Situated in northern Sarawak, Miri is a booming multi-cultural oil town and stepping off point to many of Sarawak’s world-famous national parks, including stunning Niah National Park.
Arrive into the city and transfer to your hotel. Take an introductory afternoon excursion to Canada Hill, a Taoist temple and a local market place to see produce and wares on sale.
Depart Miri and drive through the picturesque countryside to Batu Niah, a small inland town. Journey to Niah National Park’s headquarters and on by boat to cross the Niah River. Sanke through the rainforest on a plank walkway to reach the Niah Cave entrance. Explore the cave, witnessing primitive hematite wall paintings and more. Return to Miri in the afternoon. B L
Travel back into the countryside to visit a local Iban longhouse, home to 95 families. Tour the longhouse and learn about their communal living style. On return to Miri, stop by Lambir Hills National Park for a scenic walk under the dense jungle canopy and the opportunity to swim at the waterfalls. B L
Your tour concludes today with a transfer to Miri Airport for your onward flight. B
