A strenuous but enthralling three-day climb to experience the diversity of the park’s natural bio-diversity.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Kota Kinabalu – Kinabalu Park

    Travel to Mt. Kinabalu and explore one of the scenic walking trails within Kinabalu Park. 

  • Day 2: Kinabalu Park

    Begin the steep climb to the midway point at Laban Rata (3272m). Climbing starts around 2000m, steadily rising the next morning to the peak at 4095m. Keep an eye out for pitcher plants and other native flora along the route, as the national park region is home to thousands of plant species.  

  • Day 3: Kinabalu Park – Kota Kinabalu

    At 3am proceed to the rocky summit of Mt. Kinabalu, arriving in time for sunrise. Descend to your rest house by breakfast and continue down to the park.

Note: Accommodation on Mt. Kinabalu is dormitory style. A reasonable level of fitness is expected for this climb. Add on Poring Hot Springs from $100 per person to help rest your weary limbs
at the end of the climb.
