Ras Al Jinz , the easternmost point of the Arabian Peninsula, is an important nesting site for the endangered green turtle.
Take the scenic coastal road by 4WD to Ras Al Jinz, home to fi ve different species of turtle. Stop at the limestone crater at Bimah Sinkhole before continuing to Wadi Arbayeen with its deep pools set among the date palms, and Bibi Miriam’s ancient tomb. Check-in to the Ras Al Hadd hotel. Mid-evening drive a short distance to the turtle sanctuary and observe nesting green turtles under a starry sky. L, D.
Proceed to Wadi Bani Khalid with its quaint villages embedded in the mountains. Continue to Wahiba Sands. Revel in the adventure as your guide masters the red desert dunes before stopping by a Bedouin family in their traditional habitat. Return to Muscat. B, L.
