The View Private Tour

Jebel Shams (Sun Mountain) is the highest peak in the Arabian Peninsula. The View campsite is located at the foot of the Jebel Shams in the midst of beautiful mountain views. The View Tents have private facilities, two twin beds and a terrace with a view of the canyon.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Muscat – Jebel Shams

    This morning depart Muscat and travel to Jebel Shams. Enroute visit Nizwa, the former capital of Oman. Visit the pretty village of Birkat Al Mauz with is unique Falaj system and date plantations. Nizwa town is dominated by the Roundtower Fort completed in 17th century. Visit the Al Hoota Caves where you can view stalactites and stalagmites and an underground lake. Continue to Wadi Nakher located in the depth of the deepest canyon. Enjoy the spectacular view from Jebel Shams with a vertical drop of 1000 metres to the wadi below. D.

  • Day 2: Jebel Shams – Muscat

    Enjoy the cool air up in the mountains. There is time to enjoy a small trek if so inclined and admire the awe inspiring scenery. Return to Muscat. Enroute drive past the Bahla Fort, built in the 13th century and recently declared a World Heritage Site. Visit Jabrin Palace, a medieval castle with handpainted ceilings and carved door frames. Before arriving in Muscat, visit the ruins of the village of Tanuf. B.
