The luxury train, the Deccan Odyssey, will take you on an unforgettable journey through the kingdom of the Marattas - Maharashtra. Travel through time and cultures, taking in the heritage sites of Ajanta and Ellora, the handicraft village of Shilpa Gram and the Sula Winery at Nashik.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Mumbai

    Board the train in the evening at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.
  • Day 2: Sindhurdurg – Tarkaarli

    Disembark the train this morning at Sindhurdurg Nagari. Boat ride to Sindhurdurg Fort. Continue to the Tarkaarli Beach Resort.
  • Day 3: Goa

    Visit the churches of Old Goa, with time for shopping in the city bazaar of Panjim. Evening at a beach resort for cultural show and dinner of Goan delicacies.
  • Day 4: Kolhapur

    Visit Kolhapur City on the banks of the river Panchaganga. Tour New Palace with its collection of rare paintings and artefacts and the exquisitely carved Mahalaxmi Temple.
  • Day 5: Ellora

    Visit the fortress of Daulatabad rising dramatically over the Deccan Plain. Next stop is the cave temples and monasteries of Ellora, a World Heritage site.
  • Day 6: Tadoba Wildlife Sanctuary

    Safari in jeeps to spot wild animals in their natural habitat. Wildlife at the park includes Bengal tigers, sambar, panther and spotted deer. Continue to the small village of Sevagram.
  • Day 7: Ajanta – Nashik

    Visit the renowned Buddhist caves of Ajanta. Reboard the train and travel to Nashik and visit the holy Panchawati Ghat.
  • Day 8: Mumbai

    Alight at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai
