Highlights of Himachal Pradesh

Surrounded by the splendour of the Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh, is a state of amazing landscape, temples and monasteries. Visit Dharamsala, a fascinating cultural centre and home to the exiled Dalai Lama. In Manali, situated at the northern end of the Kullu Valley, visit the Hadimba temple, one of the most important temples of the region and Vashisht temple.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Delhi – Chandigarh

    Depart Delhi early in the morning. Travel to Chandigarh. Afternoon tour of Chandigarh visiting the Rock Garden, Rose Garden, Sukhna Lake and Pinjore Garden. Overnight at the Taj Chardigarh hotel.

  • Day 2: Chandigarh – Dharamsala

    Scenic drive from Chandigarh to Dharamsala. Arrivie late in the afternoon to stay two nights at Chanor House Hotel. Time to relax and enjoy the views of high snow-capped mountains and deep boulder strewn gorges. B.

  • Day 3: Dharamsala

    Spend the morning exploring Dharamsala best known as Dalai Lama’s home. Visit the Tibetan Children’s village which provides free education to some 2000 refugee children, McLeod Ganj, Bhagsunath Temple, St. John’s Church, Dal Lake and Talnoo from where you have spectacular views of the Dhauladhar range. B.

  • Day 4: Dharamsala – Manali

    Early departure to continue with a scenic drive from Dharamsala to Manali. Arrive late in the afternoon to stay two nights at the Snow Crest Manor hotel. Evening at leisure. B.

  • Day 5: Manali

    This morning you will be taken on a full day tour of Manali covering Hadimba Devi temple; built in 1553, Vashisht Temple and it’s well known hot springs, Jagarsuhk’ Solang valley and the famous Rohtang pass. B.

  • Day 6: Manali – Shimla

    Early morning departure to Shimla. Afternoon arrival to stay 2 nights at the Clark’s Shimla hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy at your own pace. We suggest you take a walk down to the famous Mall Street, a very popular place for tourists and locals dotted with many restaurants, bars and clubs. B.

  • Day 7: Shimla

    Today explore Shimla’s sights including the Indian Institute of Advanced studies housed in the Viceregal lodge which was built in 1884- 88, Jakhu temple, Christ Church, Kufri, St. Michael’s Cathedral and Naldhera. B.

  • Day 8: Shimla – Kalka – Delhi

    Travel by train between Shimla and Kalka. This is a spectacular journey as the train weaves its way through 103 tunnels. Upon arrival in Kalka you will be driven to Delhi arriving late in the evening. B.
