Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive Delhi

    Upon arrival at the airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel, The Park, for two nights. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

  • Day 2: Delhi

    A full day tour of Old and New Delhi, taking in the Red Fort, Raj Ghat and one of the largest mosques in India, Jama Masjid. Visit India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb and the tallest stone tower in India, Qutab Minar.

  • Day 3: Delhi – Varanasi

    Transfer to the airport for your flight to Varanasi. In the afternoon, tour Sarnath, where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples. Overnight at the Radisson Hotel.

  • Day 4: Varanasi – Khajuraho

    Enjoy a sunrise boat to watch the ritual bathing in the holy river Ganges. In the afternoon, fly to Khajuraho, home to the world’s finest temple art. The afternoon temple tour visits the Western and Eastern Group of Chandela temples. Stay overnight at the Ramada Hotel.

  • Day 5: Khajuraho – Jhansi – Agra

    This morning, journey by road to Jhansi and on to Agra by train. Stay for two nights at The Gateway Hotel.

  • Day 6: Agra

    City tour of Agra’s highlights, including the spectacular Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.This afternoon is free to relax and explore.

  • Day 7: Agra – Jaipur

    Journey to Jaipur by road, stopping on the way at the magnificent fabled deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri built in 1569 by Emperor Akbar as his capital. Stay two nights at the Mansingh Towers.

  • Day 8: Jaipur

    Full day tour of Jaipur. Visit the Amber Fort, approaching the gates on the back of a brightly coloured elephant. Afternoon visit to the City Palace Museum, Jai Singh’s Observatory and the spectacular Palace of the Winds.

  • Day 9: Jaipur – Delhi

    Return to Delhi by road for the conclusion of your Classical North India experience. Extend your stay in Delhi or discover the delights of Shimla.
