Itinerary

  • Day 1: Kunming

    Arrive into Kunming and transfer to your hotel.

  • Day 2: Kunming – Dali

    Take the early morning flight to Dali, home to the Bai ethnic group and spectacular mountain scenery. Your full day tour includes Dali old town, a local village and a chairlift ride up Cangshan Mountain for exceptional views of Dali.  

  • Day 3: Dali – Lijiang

    Travel through the scenic Yunnan countryside this morning from Dali to Lijiang, considered a ‘fairyland beneath the clouds’. On arrival, take an introductory walking tour of the water canals and old town.  

  • Day 4: Lijiang

    Explore the Baisha Frescoes, Joseph Lock’s residence and the pretty Black Dragon Pool. 

  • Day 5: Lijiang – Zhongdian

    Depart for Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest gorges in the world. Enjoy a gentle hike for an hour to a scenic viewpoint before the journey to Shangri-La.  

  • Day 6: Zhongdian

    Visit Bita Lake, the Lama Temple and also stop by a local Tibetan family.  

  • Day 7: Zhongdian – Kunming

    Transfer by plane this morning to Kunming before connecting with your onwards flight departing Yunnan Province.
