  • Day 1: Beijing

    Transfer to your accommodation.

  • Day 2: Beijing

    Explore the capital’s highlights today including Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the old, narrow courtyards of the hutongs. Stop by the vast grounds of the Summer Palace. Conclude the day with a sumptuous Peking duck banquet.  

  • Day 3: Beijing – Xian

    A tour highlight today – compare China’s old with the new. Head northwest to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall for astounding views and an opportunity to walk this ancient structure. Return to Beijing, stopping by the Olympic Stadium. Be amazed at the Bird’s Nest Stadium and The Cube Aquatic Centre with their incredible architecture. Fly to the ancient capital of Xian early evening. 

  • Day 4: Xian

    Explore Xian, visiting the Muslim Quarter and discovering the history of the Terracotta Warriors, witnessing the individual features of the statues firsthand. Your evening entertainment is an exciting Tang Dynasty show and dumpling banquet. 

  • Day 5: Xian – Chongqing

    Enjoy the morning at leisure before departing by plane to Chongqing, the starting port of your Yangtze cruise experience. Embark your deluxe cruise ship and set sail. 

  • Day 6: Chongqing – Fengdu

    Cruise downstream today, stopping at the ghost city of Fengdu or the stone treasures fortress at Shibaozhai en-route.  

  • Day 7: Three Gorges

    The Yangtze’s main attraction, the dramatic Three Gorges are passed today, with Wuxia Gorge being the most picturesque. Your shore excursion is a highlight – the narrow gorge scenery of Shennong Stream or Daning River.  

  • Day 8: Yichang – Shanghai

    Visit the immense Three Gorges Dam and witness the incredible feat of engineering. Disembark in Yichang and fly to China’s economic hub, Shanghai. Transfer to your hotel on arrival. 

  • Day 9: Shanghai

    Experience a full day tour of Shanghai, taking in The Bund’s architecture and views, the bustling Yu Garden and Bazaar and the informative Shanghai Museum. In the evening, witness a tour highlight – the ERA Shanghai Acrobat show. 

  • Day 10: Shanghai

    Go behind the scenes of Shanghai on this fascinating ‘Backstreets’ tour. Visit unknown areas, such as the Jewish Quarter and Propaganda Poster Museum and enjoy lunch with a local family. Conclude the day with a special meal, dining on typical Shanghai cuisine.  

  • Day 11: Shanghai

    Your tour concludes today with a transfer to the airport.
