Itinerary

  • Day 1: Beijing

    Arrive in Beijing at any time.

  • Day 2-3: Beijing

    Travel out of Beijing on a tour of the Great Wall at Mutianyu. In your free time walk the legendary grounds of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. On Day 3, board the overnight train to Xian.

  • Day 4-5: Xian

    Starting point of the ancient Silk Road, this former capital is a fascinating mix of traditional and modern, as well as home of the Terracotta Warriors, one of China’s greatest archaeological treasures. Optional tours are available to this amazing site.

  • Day 6: Chengdu

    Located just outside of Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, is the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base. The optional visit to see the giant pandas up close is a highlight for many travellers.

  • Day 7-8: Leshan & Emeishan

    Marvel at the world's biggest stone Buddha before hiking Mount Emei, one of the four sacred buddhist mountains of China.

  • Day 9-10: Lijiang

    Lijiang, a World Heritage listed town, is a maze of streets and markets. This serene city is home to the Naxi minority people, who wear traditional blue clothing and have a fascinating and distinct culture.

  • Day 11-12: Tiger Leaping Gorge

    Trek along one of China's great paths. This spectacular trail follows the mighty Yangtze River as it cuts through the dramatic gorge.

  • Day 13-14: Dali

    Dali is nestled snugly between the towering Cangshan Mountains and beautiful Erhai Lake. Explore on foot or hire a bike to take you out to some of the smaller villages of the local Bai minority people.

  • Day 15: Kunming

    Wander the quaint backstreets, roam through the markets or sample some of Kunming's fantastic food. Enjoy the nightlife of one of China's most likeable cities.

  • Day 16-19: Yangshuo

    Surrounded by spectacular limestone karst hills and green paddy fields, Yangshuo has some of the most spectacular scenery in the country. Hop on a bike and head off the beaten track - mountains, rivers, bamboo, rice paddies and water buffalo - there's something different at every turn. Take an overnight train to Hong Kong.

  • Day 20: Hong Kong

    Hong Kong is one of the world's most energetic, vibrant and impressively situated cities. It boasts an unbeatable array of scenery, cultural sites, shopping, fabulous restaurants, and atmosphere galore!

  • Day 16-19: Hong Kong

    Your tour ends in Hong Kong.
