Itinerary

  • Day 1: Chengdu

    Your tour starts with the fascinating Panda Breeding Centre where giant pandas are nursed from birth to breeding. Relax in a typical Chengdu tea house before uncovering the archaeological collection at Sangxingdui Museum. This evening, watch a Sichuan Opera performance. L.

  • Day 2: Chengdu – Mt Emei

    Depart Chengdu today for Leshan, site of the world’s largest outdoor seated Buddha. At 71m it took more than 90 years to carve. Witness the statue from the river below and by walking down the steps that line its side. From here, drive to Mt Emei and check-in to your accommodation at the foot of the mountain. B, L, D.

  • Day 3: Mt Emei – Chengdu

    Mt Emei, one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China, with stunning scenery, natural wonders and Buddhist monuments, is a World Heritage Site. Take a cable car to Wannian Temple and enjoy the beautiful scenery and a delicious vegetarian lunch, cooked by the monks. Return by cable car and transfer back to Chengdu, stopping by the 3rd century BC irrigation system at Dujiangyan Dam. B, L.
