Tibetan history can be traced back thousands of years. It is a rich and beautiful land located at the main part of Qinghai-Tibet plateau, on the south-west frontier of China. Tibet borders with Sichuan, Yunnan, Qinghai and Xingjiang; to the south contiguous to India, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Burma, and bounded by Kashmir on the west.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Join tour in Beijing.

  • Day 2: Visit Great Wall at Mutianyu.

  • Day 3: Visits to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Overnight train to Xian.

  • Day 4: Late morning city tour of Xian. Afternoon free.

  • Day 5: Visit Terracotta Warriors; overnight train to Lanzhou.

  • Day 6: Arrive Lanzhou. River trip to Bingling Si grottoes.

  • Day 7: Drive Xiahe.

  • Day 8: Visit Labrang Monastery, Sangke Village and grasslands.

  • Day 9: Drive to Tongren and visit Long Wu Monastery.

  • Day 10: Drive to Xining via Wutun Si Monastery.

  • Day 11: Visit Ta’er Si Monastery; Qinghai-Tibet railway to Lhasa.

  • Day 12: Train across Tibet, arrive Lhasa late evening.

  • Day 13: Visit Jokhang, Ani Tsangkang Nunnery & Sera Monastery.

  • Day 14: Spend the morning in Potala Palace. Afternoon free in Lhasa.

  • Day 15: Optional morning excursion to Ganden Monastery. Afternoon visit Norbulingka.

  • Day 16: Morning free, Afternoon fly to Beijing.

  • Day 17: Tour ends Beijing.
