Itinerary

  • Day 1: Beijing

    Transfer to the hotel on arrival.

  • Day 2: Beijing

    A morning tour of Temple of Heaven followed by Tiananmen Square. After lunch visit the spectacular Forbidden City. This evening enjoy a Peking duck dinner. B L D.

  • Day 3: Beijing

    Today travel north of Beijing to see the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China. It is one of the best preserved sections of the Great Wall and served as the northern defense of Beijing and the Imperial Tombs. On the return journey see the 798 Art Zone. B L.

  • Day 4: Beijing – Zhengzhou

    A short excursion to see (but not enter) the Birds Nest and Water Cube buildings, followed by the UNESCO World Heritage Summer Palace. Later fly to Zhengzhou. On arrival transfer to the Ramada Plaza Hotel. B L D.

  • Day 5: Zhengzhou – Luoyang – Xian

    The Longmen Grottoes were first carved in 493 A.D. With 2,345 caves, 100,000 Buddhist sculptures and over 3,600 stone tablets it is one of the best Buddhist treasures in China. Travel by China’s bullet train to Xian. Transfer to the Grand Noble Hotel. B L D.

  • Day 6: Xian

    Interesting Nansuo Village excursion in Huxian County. Return to Xian and visit the Tang Art Museum. Then visit the Grand Mosque and ancient Xian city walls. B L D.

  • Day 7: Xian

    A highlight today, visit the famous Terracotta Warriors which were buried more than 2000 years ago to guard the tomb of the first emperor Qinshihuang. After lunch visit Wild Goose Pagoda and Baxina Gong temple. This evening enjoy the Tang Dynasty Show with a traditional dumpling dinner. B L D.

  • Day 8: Xian – Shanghai

    Fly to cosmopolitan Shanghai. Enjoy an afternoon city tour; visit People’s Square and the Shanghai and Urban Planning Museum’s. Rest of the day is free to explore, or perhaps wonder though the Bund with its many historical buildings. Overnight at the Shanghai Broadway Mansions Hotel B L.

  • Day 9: Zhouzhuang-Shanghai

    Today we travel to the stunning water town of Zhouzhuang. Called the 'Venice of the East', this town is one of the best preserved water towns in China with a 900 year old history. Most houses were built in the Ming (1368- 1644) or Qing Dynasties (1644-1911). Enjoy the Shanghai Acrobat’s this evening. B L D.

  • Day 10: Shanghai

    Transfer to the airport for the flight home. B.
