Tibet is an intensely Buddhist land, and its richly decorated temples and monasteries testify to the deep-rooted faith of the Tibetan people. This trip visits all of the Tibet's main attractions; Lhasa, the spiritual and cultural centre of the country, Tsedang and Samye in the Yarlung Valley, the ancient city of Shigatse and the Everest Base Camp itself.

Itinerary

The overland journey to Kathmandu reveals the soaring mountains and vast sweeping landscapes of the Tibetan Plateau. As you stand on the roof of the world at Tingri with the predominant and towering north face of Mt. Everest, Tibet's image as a land of magic and mystery will come very much alive.

  • Day 1:

    Arrive Kathmandu & transfer to hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner.

  • Day 2:

    In Kathmandu, city tour.

  • Day 3:

    Fly across the Himilayas and drive to Lhasa (3550m). Overnight hotel.

  • Day 4-5:

    Tour in Lhasa

  • Days 6-7:

    Drive overland & tour Shigatse, crossing the Karo La Pass (5200m).

  • Day 8:

    Drive to Shegar (4342m).

  • Day 9:

    Cross the Guela Pass & excursion to Everest Base Camp (5750m) , return to Tingri Lodge.

  • Day 10:

    Drive to Kathmandu (1330m), crossing the friendship bridge. Time to explore, sightsee or shop.

  • Day 11:Depart Kathmandu.
