Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive Paro – Thimpu

    You will be met at the airport and transferred to the capital of Bhutan, Thimpu, for a one night stay.

  • Day 2: Thimpu – Punakha

    City tour of Thimpu, perhaps the most unusual capital city in the world. Visit Trashichho Dzong and the National Library. This afternoon journey by road to Punakha over the Dochula Pass at an altitude of 3088m. Overnight Punakha.  

  • Day 3: Punakha – Wangdue Phodrang – Paro

    Visit the beautiful Punakha Dzong built in 1637 with its towering walls and riverside location. Continue to Wangdue Phodrang with its formidable Dzong. After lunch, journey to Paro for a two night stay.  

  • Day 4: Paro

    Morning excursion to the spectacular Taktsang monastery, the Tiger’s Nest. The monastery is perched on a rocky ledge with a sheer drop of over 800m. Evening visit to the National Museum.  

  • Day 5: Depart Paro

    After breakfast transfer to the airport for onward flight.
