Cape Town is one of the world’s most beautiful and cosmopolitan cities. Summit the majestic Table Mountain by way of cable car or by foot. Explore the Malay Quarter and visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Enjoy wine tastings in the nearby flourishing vineyards and shop until you drop at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Discover the vibrant cultural scene and indulge in some fine cuisine at one of the award wining restaurants. Continue by rail to Pretoria on board the elegant Rovos Rail. Trundle through the spectacular mountain ranges and the haunting barrenness of the Great Karoo to the grasslands of the gold-rich Highveld. Finally, search for the Big Five and more whilst on safari at a luxurious private game reserve in the Kruger area. View the wildlife from open 4WD vehicles or on foot accompanied by highly experienced rangers.

Days 1: Cape Town
On arrival in Cape Town you will be met and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in Cape Town. Located on Cape Town’s historic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, the splendid Table Bay is an architectural masterpiece that captures the essence of the enchanting Cape with the Victorian elegance of yesterday and the contemporary design of today. Each of the 329 designer-decorated rooms and suites offer magnificent views across the bay to Robben Island or the majestic Table Mountain. Days 2: Cape Town
This morning enjoy a half day private tour of the city. Highlights include a visit up Table Mountain cableway where the varying flora and fauna will be explained (the cableway ticket is not included as the mountain visit is weather permitting), a Malay Quarter tour, city centre and Company Gardens, time permitting the Castle of Good Hope, photographic opportunities of Table Mountain from Table Bay and Cape Town Diamond Works. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the Table Bay Hotel. (B)

Day 3: Cape Town
After breakfast, enjoy a half day private tour of the Cape Point region. This tour includes the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, the funicular (optional extra) to reach the hillcrest at the Cape of Good Hope, Chapmans Peak (subject to the road being open), Hout Bay stop at the harbour and Sea Point. Days 4: Cape Town
Today take another half day private tour to the flourishing vineyards of the Western Cape. Enjoy a historic drive through the picturesque towns of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Stop for a wine tasting en-route. If you prefer a more leisurely paced tour please enquire about our full day version of this tour. The rest of the day is at leisure. Day 5: Rovos Rail, Cape Town - Pretoria
This morning you will be transferred to Cape Town Station for your luxurious rail journey to Pretoria. Step aboard the wood-panelled coaches and enjoy fine cuisine in five-star luxury as some of the most varied scenery imaginable unfolds beyond the windows. Recapture the romance and atmosphere of a bygone era, when privileged travellers experienced the magic and mystery of Africa in a relaxed and elegant fashion. The train departs from Platform 23 Cape Town Station. You may freshen up in your suite before joining other guests in the midway lounge car or the observation carriage at the rear of the train. Lunch will then be served in the dining car. The train trundles through Worcester on the way to Matjiesfontein, where you will disembark for a stroll through this quaint and historic little village. Of special interest is the museum on the platform and a collection of historic cars and railway carriages to the right of the hotel. After departure, dinner will be served in the dining car. Day 6: Rovos Rail, Cape Town - Pretoria
Breakfast and lunch will be served in the dining car. The train arrives in Kimberley late afternoon. Disembark and proceed by coach/combi for a tour of the city, the “ Big Hole ” and the Mine Museum. Rejoin the train at Kimberley station. Ten minutes after departing Kimberley there is a shallow lake on the left hand side facing forward. On most occasions there are spectacular flocks of Flamingos (approx. 23 000). Dinner will be served in the dining car as we pass through Bloemhof and Leeudoringstad en-route to Klerksdorp. Day 7: Pretoria
Breakfast will be served in the dining car until 10h00. The train continues the journey towards Pretoria passing through Krugersdorp, Johannesburg and Germiston. On arrival at Centurion one or two of our Rovos locomotives will collect us for the final leg of our journey to the Rovos Rail Station in Capital Park, Pretoria. On arrival, disembark and transfer to your hotel in Pretoria. Overnight at the Court Classique Suite Hotel or similar. (B)

Day 8: Sabi Sand, Greater Kruger National Park
Transfer to Johannesburg airport for your scheduled charter flight to the Sabi Sabi airstrip. You will be met by a guide and transferred to your lodge.
