Itinerary

Day 1-2: Johannesburg – Kruger National Park
Leaving Johannesburg we enter Mpumalanga Province to explore the natural spectacles of Blyde River Canyon, the Three Rondavels and Bourke’s Luck Potholes. Then it’s on to our private game reserve bordering Kruger for our first night in the wilderness. We enter the famed Kruger National Park each day for game drives. Kruger is South Africa’s best known wildlife reserve, an enormous reserve which offers unrivalled opportunities for game viewing including the ‘big five’, good stocks of grazing animals, and prolific birdlife.

Day 3-4: Kruger National Park – Swaziland
We continue to Swaziland, the mountainous landlocked kingdom sandwiched snugly between Mozambique and South Africa. We spend two nights here and visit Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, the Royal Enclosure and have time to browse local craft markets and factories.

Day 5-7: Swaziland – Durban
Cross back into South Africa and enter the province of KwaZulu Natal. Enjoy a game drive in Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Reserve, visit a local village and the splendours of St Lucia before driving down the coast to Durban.

Day 8-9: Durban – Wild Coast
Pass through the rugged Wild Coast, where the native Xhosa people are rooted deeply in tradition and custom. Spend two nights in the charming town of Cintsa to enjoy beautiful beaches and optional activities such as horse-riding, canoeing and surfing.

Day 10-12: Wild Coast – Knysna
Addo Elephant National Park marks the start of the ‘Garden Route’. The park is sanctuary for Cape buffalo, rhino and elephant which we hope to see on an afternoon game drive. We visit the Tsitsikamma National Park with the opportunity to try the highest bungy in the world before continue to the picturesque town of Knysna for two nights.

Day 13: Knysna – Hermanus
Onwards to Hermanus, renown particularly for dolphin and whale watching which whilst seasonal is often possible from the shore. At any time of year this is an ideal place to relax and enjoy a beautiful part of the coastline.

Day 14: Cape Vineyard, Cape Town
The Cape is renowned for its vineyards and we sample the products of a local winery before continuing to Cape Town, where our tour ends.
