Climb onto a camel and explore the edge of the Sahara before admiring the views from the heights of the Atlas Mountains. Experience the energy of Imperial cities as you explore crowded souks stuffed with exotic wares, then take a moment to appreciate this amazing adventure as you camp under the stars among some of the world's biggest sand dunes.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Casablanca

    Arrive at any time and see the city at your own pace until your tour briefing in the evening.

  • Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat - Meknes

    Head to Morocco's capital city, Rabat. Explore the exteriors of the Royal Palace and visit the beautiful Mohamed V Mausoleum. Venture uphill for stunning views of Kasbah des Oudaias, and then take some time to wander Rabat's quaint medina before heading to Meknes.

  • Day 3: Meknes – Volubilis – Fez

    Explore enchanting Meknes, from the ornamental gates of Bab Mansour, to the colourful souks, and the remnants of the Imperial City. Travel on to Volubilis, the best preserved Roman ruins in this part of North Africa. Leave the Roman Empire for Fez.

  • Day 4: Fez

    Enjoy a morning guided historical tour starting at King Fez's Palace, then visit the Jewish Quarter and South Fort, atop one of Fez's highest peaks. Continue to a pottery cooperative, and see how ceramics are made and then enter the chaotic medina where you'll see copper and brass souqs, wedding souqs, carpenters, bakers and Fez's famous tannery.

  • Day 5-6: Merzouga

    You will have plenty of free time to relax by the pool or explore the golden sands of the desert, before setting off on camels through the highest sand dunes in North Africa at the edge of the Sahara, as we make a nomad camp our home for the night.

  • Day 7: Todra Gorge

    Rise early to return on camel back to freshen up. Continue by bus to Tinerhir where you will learn about local life in this region before exploring the cliff-sided canyons of the mighty Todra Gorge.

  • Day 8: Aït Ben Haddou

    Continue along the “Route of 1000 Kasbahs” to Ouarzazate. There is the chance to visit a local Berber herb store to learn of the remarkable natural products. Head to the village of Aït Benhaddou for a visit to the famous Kasbah.

  • Day 9: High Atlas Mountains

    Walk to our village gîte in the High Atlas Mountains and learn more about the culture of these mountain people, while enjoying a delicious home cooked traditional dinner.

  • Day 10-11: Essaouira

    Explore Essaouira's funky beach vibe and cobblestone whitewashed streets. Browse the shops and art galleries or take a stroll along the long, sandy beach.

  • Day 12-13: Marrakech

    Explore Marrakech - maybe visit the Koutoubia Minaret and gardens, the Bahia Palace, the Mellah and the Saadian Tombs, and don't miss a visit to the exotic souks. In the evening head to the famous Djemaa el Fna Square for fortune tellers, performers and snake charming.

  • Day 14: Marrakech

    Depart at any time.
