Itinerary

Day 1: Cairo
Arrive in Cairo at any time.

Day 2: Cairo, Overnight train
Explore the great pyramids of Giza with a
guided tour. Spend the afternoon visiting the
Egyptian Museum. In the evening transfer to
the railway station for overnight train to Aswan.

Day 3-5: Aswan
Enjoy some free time in Aswan to browse the
souk, full of the scent of spices and perfumes.
Visit a Nubian village and experience a home
cooked dinner with the locals. Take the chance
to visit the majestic desert temple of Abu Simbel
before relaxing on the Nile in a traditional
felucca, sailing by day and sleeping under the
stars by night.

Day 6-7: Luxor, Overnight train
Explore Luxor with the option to visit the
ancient Karnak Temple and Luxor Museum.
Trek by donkey to the West Bank to visit the
impressive Valley of the Kings, home to the
tomb of Tutankhamun. Transfer to the railway
to board the sleeper train back to Cairo.

Day 8: Cairo
Spend a day exploring Cairo, including the
Khan el-Khalili bazaar.

Day 9: Mount Sinai
Transfer by car to St. Catherine, your base
for climbing Mt. Sinai - perfect for viewing a
glorious sunset. You can opt for a camel to
take you most of the way, or choose the quick
but deadly option of 3750 stairs to the top!

Day 10: Red Sea
Set off on a visit of the Monastery of St
Catherine, then transfer to your beach
getaway near Nuewiba.

Day 11: Aqaba
Board the ferry to cross the Gulf of Aqaba
to Jordan. Aqaba offers delicious food and
beautiful beaches to enjoy.

Day 12: Wadi Rum
Wadi Rum is possibly the most stunning
desertscape in the world. Spend the evening
sitting under the stars listening to stoires from
your Bedouin hosts.

Day 13-14: Petra
Visit Petra, the most famous site in Jordan.
Explore imposing façades, great buildings
and tombs in this magnificent ancient city.

Day 15: Madaba
Travel the King's Highway stopping at Shobak
Castle, one of the most significant sights in
Jordan, as well as the ancient Crusader castle
of Kerak. Enjoy Madaba, famous for Byzantine
mosaics and Ottoman-style houses.

Day 16: Amman
Set off mid-morning for the Dead Sea. The
water is so dense it is practically impossible to
sink, being five to ten times as salty as regular
sea water. Free time to float in the sea.

Day 17: Amman
You are free to depart at any time.
