Mt Kilimanjaro is a challenge that any fit person can attempt. The trek is demanding, but gives the reward of conquering Africa’s highest mountain. The easiest and most popular route to the summit is the Marangu Route. We can also offer the Rongai Route, and the more difficult Machame, Shira and Lemosho routes.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Kilimanjaro

    Transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Evening briefing.

  • Day 2: Ascent To 2,700m

    Drive to the mountain and start trekking through beautiful rainforests. 3-5 hr walking. Overnight at Mandara Hut.  

  • Day 3: Ascent To 3,720m

    Leave the forest and cross moorland filled with high heather. 5-6 hr walking. Overnight at Horombo Hut.  

  • Day 4: Ascent To 4,700m

    Cross the saddle. 4-5 hr walking. Overnight at Kibo Hut.  

  • Day 5: Summit 5,896m And Descend

    Depart during the early hours for the final ascent to Gillman’s Point to watch the sunrise, then on to Uhuru Peak. 11-15 hr walking. Overnight at Horombo Hut.  

  • Day 6: Kilimanjaro

    Easy paced trek. 5-6 hr walking. Overnight in Moshi.  

  • Day 7: Kilimanjaro

Note: Climbing gear is not included and can be hired locally.

The recommended tip is approx. US$150-200 per person, which will be equally shared between mountain guides and porters. An extra acclimatisation day is recommended.
